Medicare has changed their processing guidelines.  Any claim now submitted must be entered exactly as the ID card shows.  If there is a middle initial, or if there is a hyphenated name, then it must be included.  It is now extremely important to get a copy of the patient’s ID card so you can avoid claim denials. 

As of January 1st, 2020 Medicare will only process claims with the MBI number.  If you use the HICN it will be denied.
