Happy New Year! The Centre County Council for Human Services (CCCHS) is one of our community’s highly valued cooperative organizations. Membership in this nonprofit allows many Centre County human service organizations to share important announcements and events through monthly newsletters, give presentations at monthly luncheons, apply for the Robert Ott Seed Grant, attend discounted professional education programs, and network with other organizations. We welcome any agency, business, and community-minded individual who is interested in providing a helping hand to our community to join. Notable events that CCCHS hosts include the annual Rose Cologne Dinner, where organizations can recognize a special volunteer and the annual “Lunch with the Legislators,” where members pose questions to local representatives about current issues facing Centre County human services. In 2023, we had 84 organizations in the Centre County Council for Human Services along with ten individuals. Council members are invited to write articles for a Helping Hands column as a collaborative effort with the Centre Daily Times to provide our community with information on the human services available. Please visit https://www.theccchs.org/helping-hands to read recent articles. Membership meetings are typically held on the first Wednesday of the month at Calvary Church in Boalsburg. Our first meeting of 2024 will be Wednesday, February 7 at noon. We encourage interested organizations or individuals to email ccchs2@gmail.com for more information. Visit theccchs.org for the membership application. Together, we can make a difference.

In Home Services of Central PA Home CareIn-home services of Central PA Home Care has compassionate caregivers to help senior citizens in their homes in most of Centre County. Our availability is always dependent on exact hours and the exact location of the potential client. What we do is my personal passion. I am very proud of our team. We were selected as a 2023, 2022, and 2021 top home healthcare agency in Central PA. The PA Business Central named us a top 100 organization. Our most recent client satisfaction score is 100%. We regretfully do not participate in the Medicaid program in Centre County due to the deplorable Medicaid home care funding for which I have fought hard to change. We can not recruit and retain outstanding caregivers when deplorable funding is received. We strive to hire the best in order to provide the best in-home care services. Our senior citizens deserve the best. Please contact Mark Von Stein, Rn-Mn at 814.321.2145 or 717.363.4913 if we can be of assistance. Ken Stuck, NHAFounder and CEO |
