November Newsletter

Hello PAMA Students,

On Saturday, October 28th, Mr. C and Mr. Barber taught a self-defense class for the Petaluma Women's Running Club. Thirteen women and two teens participated in this personalized street awareness and tactical self-defense class. We used the SAFE format, S: Situational Awareness, A: Attitude-Awareness, F: Fight or Flee, E: Tactical Escape. This two-hour Class included hitting targets, role-playing, weapons, street awareness, and intuition. The class transformed from tentative to powerful over the two hours. They were assertive and confident when they walked out the door.

The runner's club reserved a closed group for just their members, and will repeat this class after the new year. We offer group discounts for clubs and teams, or anybody who wants to personalize their group.

We are offering a Women's Self-Defense class using the same SAFE format on Saturday, December 9th, from 11:30am to 1:30pm (see flyer below). The class is open to everybody and is a perfect way to release the Holiday stress and deal with the aggression that comes out of others during the Holidays. The class is mostly about preventing confrontation and feeling confident, knowing that you have options if it comes down to defending yourself. A Sign-Up sheet is on the front door counter.

On Saturday, December 2nd, at noon, we will have a Potluck-Social gathering at PAMA. We will have demos of Tai Chi, Kenpo, Self-Defense, Katas, and Sparring. Talk to Mr. C if you would like to participate. Show off to you family and friends, and support each other with the preparation and rehearsing. It will be fun. If you feel performance anxiety, there is no pressure to perform (though pushing through the pressure is good for you).

Qigong, Saturday, November 18th, 11:30 - 1.:30.
