Welcome Welcome to Blue Leaf Design Build's monthly newsletter, The Leaf Peeper. We hope you enjoy this monthly publication and find the information useful. As we kick off 2023, we would like to take a moment to reflect on the past year and look ahead to what's coming up. |

About Us Blue Leaf Design Build was born in 2017 in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. After over 25 years creating and building, with a client base up and down the Front Range and over the Western Slope, California, New Mexico, and Pennsylvania, Phil wanted to create a new business that reflected the quality of the work he does. Jacqui and Phil moved to Conifer in 2019 and have been focusing the business on this community since. Jacqui has been a registered nurse for over 30 years. She stepped away from her nursing career in 2021 to focus full time on Blue Leaf Design Build. |

Branding Update We are kicking off 2023 with a whole new design. We have updated our logo, and our website. We've been hard at work on our brand, and we're happy to announce that we officially launched our new logo and website on January 24th! Why did we change our logo? It was time for an update, and we wanted our updated logo to reflect the quality of work we do. Our old logo was nice, but it didn't show off what we do best: create beautifully updated homes in our foothills and mountain communities. What does the new logo look like? Our new logo is simple yet elegant and clean looking. With our home base in Conifer, our new logo reflects the beautiful aspen trees in the gorgeous mountains here in Colorado, and of course, homes. You can find it on all of our social media accounts—including Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and LinkedIn—and in our newsletters and on our website. We hope you like it! New Website: We partnered with Laura Bean of Be Digital Marketing to update our website. We are thrilled with the new design. Check out the new website at www.blueleafdesignbuild.com. |

Retrospective 2022 Last year was an incredible year for Blue Leaf Design Build. We have finally started to find our client base here in the Foothills. Living in this community, it is important for us to remodel homes where we live. We continue to work with homeowners in the Western Metro Denver area as well. Phil is building some amazing products. We have started with custom end grain cutting boards, which are available for purchase at Elevation Celebration in Conifer this summer, as well as at the Foothills and Denver Home Shows this spring. These boards are made from left over scrap wood from projects, and all proceeds are donated to Ace Mentor Program. ACE Mentor Program of Colorado serves high school students who want to explore careers in architecture, construction, and engineering. We also give one to each homeowner at the completion of their project. We had the pleasure of participating in the 39th Annual Christmas in Conifer Parade. This year’s theme was Heroes on Parade. With Jacqui being a nurse for over 30 years and during covid, it seemed only appropriate that our float was “Healthcare Heroes”. Phil built an amazing Gingerbread Hospital. We had a Gingerbread Man, Nurses and Covid. We are thrilled to have one 1st place in the category of Most Creative. We've also had some exciting new staff additions: We've brought on a new Project Coordinator, Beau Donahue, and Project Manager, Heather Jorgensen. We also have two carpenters who will be working with us, Greg Gonzales (Superior Interiors, LLC) and Sam Stephens (Pinpoint Woodworking, LLC). We are excited to have all three working with us and providing us the opportunity to complete projects for homeowners sooner, without compromising quality or integrity. |

Did You Know? How much does it cost per sq. foot to renovate? I did a google search with this question in mind today. The results were disappointing. What I found was, for the most part, $15 - $75/sq foot. This is very misleading. This figure was based on the square footage of the entire home, not the actual square footage being remodeled. Prior to Covid, the average was about $200-$250/sq ft of remodeled space. Currently, due to massive inflation post covid, it will cost about $300 - $400/sq ft of remodeled space, depending on the project and finishes. (A kitchen is the most expensive, a simple room is the least. Finishes range from basic to luxury). The best way to get an idea of how much it will cost is to understand your project needs, talk to an architect if needed**, and speak with us so that we can give you an estimate based on what you have in mind. If a contractor gives you a quote without having seen your project or knowing what is involved, be cautious. There is a lot of time and consideration that goes into a good faith estimate. ** We work with excellent architects and are happy to refer you to them if needed |
