For Saturday, Sept 11: Philanthropy Day The chapter is doing a craft and the attendees will be making beaded bracelets to donate. We would love to have volunteers to help keep the bracelet tables stocked between parties! Parties run for 40 minutes, starting at 12:50 pm through at least 7:55 or later. If you are interested and able to come that afternoon / evening for a couple of hours to help out, please let Beth Effertz know. Parties are in the Pere Marquette Gallery this year in Dubourg, Room 240. This is a unique space on the campus and one that I didn't even know existed until this year! It's quite beautiful! On September 24, 1875, Gamma Phi Beta’s four Founders first met “in the room kindly furnished by Professor Brown,” whose namesake we draw our colors of brown and light brown (mode). To honor the sisterhood experienced that day that has continued 145 years later, we invite you to our inaugural Gamma Phi Get-Together on September 24!This annual event is a way to connect with sisters near and far and celebrate the sisterhood that connects Gamma Phi Betas. By coming together on the same day, we can show just how far our bond reaches – across collegiate chapters, distance, generations and more. |

Announcement from Girls on the Run- St Louis: Girls on the Run is very happy to add a new Program Coordinator to our team, Shelby Kuhl. Shelby is a former elementary and early childhood educator with experience in the Clayton School District, as well as Dallas County Missouri and Springfield Public Schools. Shelby is positive, enthusiastic and truly committed to the social emotional development of young people, and very excited to build relationships in our community. She has experience as a running buddy for Girls on the Run while a student at Missouri State and coached GOTR the first few weeks of our Spring 2020 season at Glenridge Elementary (before the shutdown). Shelby came to GOTR as a Gamma Phi Beta at Missouri State and we could not be more thrilled to have her part of our team. |

FOUNDERS DAY 2021 PLANS The STL Founders Day Committee has reluctantly made the decision to cancel the in-person St. Louis Founder's Day gathering scheduled for November. We want members to feel comfortable with large gatherings and it is unclear what the situation will be in the next few months because of COVID. We will attempt to find other creative ways to bond with sisters and to reach out to collegians at Phi and Gamma Tau Chapters. As an alternative, the Founder's Day Committee encourages you to sign up for the International Founder's Day on November 17th. This will be a virtual Founder's Day service that will be available to all members. This is a great way to join with sisters all over the world to celebrate our Founder's Day. More details will be coming. |
