Recently Blue Honey and Michaela had the wonderful opportunity of joining Little Addicts podcast with Kerene Strochnetter from Mindful at Work for a chat about the journey to psilocybin, the first dose, Blue Honey and the stories included, and more!
About Kerene Strochnetter and Mindful at Work:
Kerene Strochnetter is the Managing Director of Mindful at Work, which brings mindfulness into the workplace to reduce stress, change behaviour, and transform culture.
Author of ‘Crazy Busy - If busy is the new stupid, then mindful is the new smart’,
co-author of programs on the Awakened Mind app and the New Zealand business partner for The Mindful Leader.
Kerene believes humans are designed for addiction, and everyone’s addicted to something.
Her podcast ‘Little Addicts’ interviews people for her new book ‘Everybody Sucks – When Self-soothing Becomes Self-harm’, in an attempt to answer three critical questions:
Why do I keep going for a quick fix despite knowing what I’m doing is harmful?
Why can’t I stop (even when I want to)?
And how do I take back control of my life?
Kerene’s been interested in psychedelic therapy since reading Michael Pollan’s How to Change Your Mind.
She believes psychedelics will radically change how we treat mental health and addiction in the future.
A word from Michaela:
Speaking and discussions that contribute to our media presence is nerve wracking and still something Zach and I are getting used to.
The only comment I wish to make is the couple of references to "my" parents, when it should have been "our" parents.
This, I believe, comes from having lived in Canada without my family around for such a long period, I inadvertently have made a habit of saying "my" instead of "our" when talking about family!!
Thank you Kerene for this amazing opportunity to answer questions from a different angle and to address some points, opinions and experiences that we haven't shared before!!
And of course, for the ability to continue to raise awareness across more platforms.
