Hello to New Friends (and farewell to an old one.)

Nose of Gatsby is welcoming our new partner stores, online and physical. We are joining a new store in Portland, Oregon, MANTEL PDX. MANTEL PDX carries two of our creations in travel size, AURA and FANTÔME. MANTEL is a beautiful boutique that carries handmade pottery, home goods, and gifts. If you are visiting downtown Portland, please visit them and check our creations there.

In July, Nose of Gatsby will appear as a month-long residential guest in one of the legendary niche, indie perfumeries in Portland, FUMERIE PARFUMERIE. FUMERIE PARFUMERIE is a store that is famous for carrying numerous amounts of well-made, hard-to-find, or vintage fragrances and perfumes from mostly independent perfumers and small-scaled perfumeries. They host events or fragrance workshops frequently and FUMERIE PARFUMERIE has become the place where people who love Portland and fragrance enthusiasts must visit. Nose of Gatsby will be their guest perfumer in July, and they will feature our creations. If you live in or are visiting Portland, after saying hello to MANTEL PDX, please come here to say hello to them as well.

Nose of Gatsby is joining Kingdom Fragrances, one of the well-known online niche fragrance stores. Partnering with them and being alongside many well-respected niche fragrance houses is truly an honor to us. If you have shopped with them before, now you can also find some of our creations on their site. If you are looking to try other fragrance houses also featuring high-quality ingredients, Kingdom Fragrances offers samples on almost all the fragrances they carry.

And of course, life is always changing. This month, we are saying a bittersweet farewell to one of our partner stores (and Friends,) Utility Works Seattle, a Japanese art collective store. The business owners decided to relocate and close the business in the mid of June 2024. After one year of partnering with Utility Works Seattle, the store owners Jun and Taylor have become not only our business partners but also friends. Utility Works Seattle is one of the stores that trusted us almost right after we started in 2023. We will be joining their last Belltown Art Walk and Art Show on June 14th from 6 pm to 9 pm. To celebrate the last time and say goodbye to them in person. If you love arts, there will be local artists showcasing their work at the event. Please come to check their store out. (the official closing day is Saturday, June 15th, 2024.)

Summer Cocktail Recommendations

Piña Colada: The most refreshing way to cool off after a day at the beach. The drink as we know it today was invented in Puerto Rico in the 1950s, though variations on pineapple, rum, and coconut mixed drinks have existed in the Caribbean for over 200 years. This sweet, icy blended cocktail of pineapple juice, coconut cream, and white rum is simple, fun, and always delicious.

Cosmopolitan: The Cosmo is the ultimate gay bar cocktail that tastes great and looks fabulous. Served in a martini glass (sometimes with a lemon twist garnish) of vodka, lime, Cointreau (an orange-flavored and colored liqueur), and cranberry juice, this stylish pink dazzler will draw anyone’s attention. The Cosmo is an American invention that made its way from Massachusetts to San Francisco in the 1970s and then exploded in the late 80s and early 90s in Manhattan thanks to Madonna and Carrie Bradshaw.

Mojito: Created in Havana, Cuba, the Mojito has many different variations. My favorite includes cucumber slices along with the usual white rum, lime, soda, and mint leaves. Another interesting variation, called the Cojito, uses coconut-flavored rum. There’s also watermelon mojitos and mojitos that use gin instead of rum. As long as it is refreshing and cools you off in the hot summer sun, any type of mojito will do the trick.

Event Info in June

We would like to start sharing our Pop-up info in our monthly newsletter, in case you would like to try all of our creations in person (or maybe chat with us and ask questions). We also would like to correct a typo in the picture that the event on June 8th at Ballard Market Bar Hop is from 1 pm to 7 pm. We missed one that is for Utility Works Seattle on Friday, June 14th from 6 pm to 9 pm.

We are very excited to be at the Fremont Fair. This is the first time we will be joining their events. If you are free these days, come to try our creations in person and say hello to us.

Something New is About to Come...

Like in the past, we love to spurious you in our pop-up events. This time, we also prepare to show you something that we have been working for sometimes in person. Come to our pop-up events to find out in person. (You maybe able to find some hints in this newsletter.)
