What all desperately needed it and it has finally come to fruition! Wet - season in Thailand has kicked off. The past few months were taxing on everyone with the intense heat eclipsing 40C at times and the skyrocketing electricity bills were no jokes either. Normally despised, now we welcome the annual rain-showers and thunderstorms with a little appreciation this year! Empty Plates Bangkok is keeping the heat up high though and we won’t let the raining season slow us down! We've been creative in the kitchen with new expanding menu offerings and outside of it we put in the work to present you new dining concepts that will be introduced over the next four months. After scouting for locations and partners, it came down to wheeling and dealing to gear up for the upcoming months and agree to terms. Fortunately, we’ve been able to close in on a few exciting catering collaborations, event organizing and private dining events. Two of these collaborations, we're happy to share with you today for June and July. . Last year we've publicly launched the very first cannabis fine dining experience in Thailand with our dinner series 'Bong Appétit'. We started it all in Bangkok and took the dining concept to Phuket and Koh Samui. 'Bong Appétit' was a success and the first step of setting our mark to establish a cannabis fine dining culture in Thailand was made. We always like to progress, evolve and push ourselves further. Therefore we've decided to place 'Bong Appétit' on the shelve and come up with something new and a bit different, just like us - 'Ganjalicious' is taking its place and is our new fine dining conception for cannabis enthusiast, newbies or strictly food lovers who just want to try our food. The first opportunity is arising on Saturday, the 17th of June when we serve our 7 course 'Ganjalicious' tasting menu hosted by our friends of High Society at their flagship - location in Sukhumvit 31. You can expect an intimate, but yet homey and laid-back setting with premium smokes, delightful food and drinks. We're serving a stunning line up of dishes that will be paired perfectly with cannabis appliances and beverages. Check out the menu we have in store and grab yourself a seat, we won't accaept walk ins! |

High Society is a fast expanding dispensary, currently with 3 different locations in Bangkok (Sukhumvit, Ploenchit & Suan Plu). We had the pleasure to have High Society at our '422' event in April and we're happy to have a chance to come together for this occasion to offer our Bangkok friends an exclusive cannabis dining experience one of a kind. |

What's on the menu you are asking? We are doing a play on a 'Croque monsieur' - a delicate truffle butter, Gruyere cheese, beef cheeks slowly cooked for 20 hours and thinly sliced with pickled shallots, black garlic aioli and an egg yolk cream will take this classic french dish to the next level. Next on the list, a bread-less prawn-sesame-toasty just like from your Chinese take-out but with a more fine dining touch. Followed by our Tuna Tataki dish with an infused ponzu sauce, dressed avocado and varieties of ginger accompanied by a white bean puree. Fourth course is 'The silence of the Thai Red Lamb' which is a delicious piece of Victorian Lamb from Australia sourced from the Accidental Butcher, marinated in our chili-marsala marinade topped with decompressed mint-watermelon, extra crunchy textures and two different sauces to pick up with your lamb cutlet. Pre-main and course number six will be our delicate Miso-King-Salmon with a Thai herb slaw, poached asparagus and a miso vinaigrette. 'H-E-M-P' made of hemp-seed linguine, a hemp pesto, hemp powder, lemon zest, hemp breadcrumbs and pork jerky dust is the star of the night, with this dish we highlight that you can turn out something delicious from seeds to stems of the hemp and cannabis plant. Our dessert course will be a sweet treat to remember, it's all about textures and the humble banana! |
