Fresh on the heels of our European tour with the Academie des Cesar - which saw screenings across 21 cities and 12 countries in Europe and Mexico - The Water Dancers returns to South Africa for its first national broadcast on Cape Town-based community television channel, CTV. The Water Dancers is a 25-minute documentary from the University of Cape Town and Stellenbosch University about the sentinel messenger of the environment, the dragonfly. The film won a Golden Horn award at the 13th annual South African Film & Television Awards (SAFTAS) in March. The Water Dancers looks to the small things to solve our biggest ecological problems |

We are very happy to be partnering with Cape Town TV - whose mission it is to “provide community access to the powerful medium of television as a tool to promote human rights, social justice and community cultural development” - to engage the wider Cape Town populace on the ecological issues unfolding on their doorsteps. This broadcast forms part of The Water Dancer’s broader community impact campaign, #TheSmallThingsMatter, which you can learn more about here. |

In August, Director Robyn Palmer and Editor Erin Macpherson took to SABC3’s talk show, Afternoon Express, to spread the message of the small things and chat to host, Jeannie Dee, about what makes dragonflies so important. If you missed it, you can watch the full interview on our website, or below. |
