Dear St. Patrick Families,

It was a beautiful day for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 11th! The 5th graders rode on the parade float and cheered loudly as the 3rd and 4th graders marched with our St. Patrick Catholic School banner. Everyone had a great time.

We have added additional times for parents to shop the Book Fair. Parents can shop tomorrow, Friday, March 17 from 7:30am – 8:30am, and 1:15pm – 2:15pm. 

Here are the future teachers, astronaut, book illustrator, author, pilot, gamer, basketball player, zoo keeper, nurse and veterinarian.

Our prayer partners are hard at work. 5B and KB are creating a Catholic ABC Book.

The 5th graders will perform High School Musical on May 16, 2023.  The doors will open at 6:00pm and the show will start promptly at 6:30pm. More information will be shared at a later date.

 

Thank you to all who bid on teachers/staff for Kids Rule the School Day. The Kids ran the school perfectly, enjoyed snacks in the teacher’s lounge, courtesy of PTO and had pizza for lunch, courtesy of Student Council. Enrollment for the 2023-24 school year is underway. If you did not receive the enrollment materials via email, please contact the MACS Business Office at macsbilling@rcdoc.org or 704-370-3265. Enrollment for our current and new students opened on March 15th. Current students who do not have their enrollment completed by March 31st MAY lose their seat. Those students who do not complete their re-enrollment by March 31st and if there is a waitlist for that grade, would lose their seat to a new student on the waitlist. Should a seat open prior to the start of school, they could possibly secure a spot. Make sure you enroll today!

 

Chubby, the Charlotte Checkers mascot, was under the weather last week so he will visit St. Patrick tomorrow, Friday, 3/17 during carpool from 7am-8am. Be sure to wave to Chubby and don't forget to get your tickets for our Charlotte Checkers Night on March 25th. To purchase tickets, see the information below.

 

Important Reminder: An email was sent to all the families about volunteering. If your Virtus is not up to date you will not be allowed to chaperone a field trip or volunteer in the school. Mrs. Robbins takes time and checks everyone’s status. She will contact you before the scheduled field trip/volunteer opportunity to let you know if you have your Virtus bulletins up to date. If the bulletins are not completed, we will let you know that you cannot volunteer. Take the time to read the Protecting God’s Children bulletins, that are sent monthly to your email, this is a school safety concern and is policy. I appreciate you taking the time to complete your bulletins.

NEWS FROM THE SCHOOL

COVID PROTOCOLS

We want to thank you for your continued support in keeping our school community safe and healthy. As we move into the second half of our school year we will be following our diocesan infectious disease policy for COVID. This means that should an individual contract COVID, they will be able to return to school after 24 hours fever free and symptom improvement. This aligns with how we currently manage all communicable diseases throughout our school communities. We are grateful for your collaboration to help maintain our safe environment.

COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

St. Patrick's PTO Service Committee is looking for students and their parent(s) to volunteer at MiraVia on Feb. 20th, Mar. 3rd and Mar. 24th. Volunteers will help with sorting, organizing and bundling.

PENQUIN DRIVE-IN SPIRIT NIGHT

On Wednesday, Mar. 22nd Penguin Drive-In will be teaming up with St. Patrick from 4-8PM for a Spirit Night. 10% of the sales will go back to our school when you mention St. Patrick School.

CHECKERS SPIRIT NIGHT

Saturday, Mar. 25th at 4pm, St. Patrick’s will have a spirit night to cheer on the Charlotte Checkers! We have one section completely reserved for St. Patrick families and the link will select the best available seats in the section.  It will not allow you to pick the exact seats, but we do have the whole section currently reserved. Our 5th Graders will also be able to Hi-Five the players in the tunnel at intermission! Parking is also included. $5 of every ticket goes back to the school.

ST. PATRICK CATHEDRAL

SUMMER CAMP

Totus Tuus is a week-long summer camp for children and teens held at the Cathedral of Saint Patrick from June 25th - 30th. The program combines daily Mass, songs, games, Eucharistic Adoration, lessons and tons of fun! Totus Tuus is split into two age groups: Grade School (rising 1st - 6th Graders -- kindergartners are welcome with prior approval) held Monday through Friday from 9 am to 2:30 pm and Middle/High School (rising 7th-12th Graders) held Sunday through Thursday from 7 pm to 9 pm. The registration cost is $30 per child with a maximum fee of $90 per family. All are welcome regardless of which parish you attend. Register online at: www.stpatricks.org/totus-tuus.

HOLY TRINITY FOOTBALL MINI-CAMP

Rising 6-8th graders are invited to Holy Trinity's annual spring football mini-camp. The camp will run on Saturday, May 13th from 9:30-12:30pm at Holy Trinity.

Please take a moment to look at our map and instructions for carpool. Carpool runs in this pattern both in the am and pm. Cars should not enter the parking lot from Buchanan or Waverly, enter through Pierce.

BIRTHDAY TREATS

Students are permitted to bring in store-bought (not homemade) treats to celebrate their birthdays with their class during lunch. Families have the option to purchase ice cream from the cafeteria for the birthday boy/girl and/or for the whole class to celebrate a birthday. Ice cream orders must be placed with Mrs. Loeber, the cafeteria manager, at least one week prior to the date to ensure enough ice cream is available for the class to participate. Mrs. Loeber can be reached via email at ejloeber@stpatrickschool.net.
