WHAT WE DO
We fight for DC Statehood, using the tools, resources, and network of the Democratic Party to help achieve representation and equity for the 700,000+ residents of Washington, DC.
Democrats have introduced bills in Congress to finally help achieve DC Statehood: HR 51 and S 631. In the 117th Congress (2021-2022), HR51 was re-introduced with a record 202 original sponsors.
DC Statehood is a core issue for Democrats; the Democratic Party platform stresses the importance of Restoring and Strengthening Our Democracy and making Washington, DC the 51st State.
