Happy May!
Spring has finally sprung . . . at least I think so. Here in Vermont we often get snow in April and sure enough, last week we had a day of surprisingly heavy snow flurries. It all melted quickly, but it was a good reminder that those April showers are sometimes snow showers.
We had a successful lambing season here, seventeen lambs in all. The mothers and babies are healthy and eating well and I've caught up on my sleep. I've been reading a bit lately. (See below for some of my recent favorites.) And, I've been writing a lot, which is why I haven't been reading more. The third Maggie D'arcy mystery, which will be out in 2022, is due to my editor on June 1st so I've had my nose to the grindstone this month. It's set in West Cork, Ireland and I've loved having my head back in the gorgeous and mysterious little towns and villages along the Atlantic coast, getting Maggie into trouble and (hopefully) out of it again. I can't wait to share more details with you soon.
I'm also starting to plan events for the publication of A Distant Grave on June 22nd. My official launch will be on June 23rd at the Norwich Bookstore and I'll be doing events with some other wonderful indie bookstores too. Stay tuned to my website and social media channels for more events and registration details. I can't wait until I can do in-person events again, but there's a lot to love about virtual book parties too. Anyone can tune in from anywhere!
Happy Spring! Here's hoping that saying that doesn't cause another snow storm.
