Your weekly update on news, events and developments in Neighbourhood and Community Centres across Queensland.

Are you a Department funded Neighbourhood Centre and need financial help getting to, or paying for the Community Development Queensland Conference next Month?  Because the conference features a high level of content relevant for Neighbourhood Centres,  the Department of Communities has provided the QFCA with funding to assist Neighbourhood Centres attend.  Find out more here, but get in quick!

Our thoughts are with Granite Belt Neighbourhood Centre, who are responding to huge amounts of community need after the devastating bush fires earlier this month.  The Department of Communities, Community Recovery is working with the centre which is acting as a hub for local residents.  This highlights the key role Neighbourhood Centres are playing in disaster management.

Get Online Qld is a Queensland Government initiative which recruits volunteer digital mentors to help community members access the social, educational and financial benefits of being online.  They're expanding the program to Cairns and Townsville areas.  If you're interested in getting on board, email GetOnlineQld@hpw.qld.gov.au.
