On September 12, 2022, the Institute held a private reception and sofa talk event, featuring noted journalist and former Essence Magazine editor Linda Villaroso, an alumnae of the University of Colorado, New York Times writer, author, novelist, educator, and international speaker. Ms. Villarosa discussed her new book, Under the Skin: The Hidden Toll of Racism in America and the Health of our Nation. Ms. Villarosa also authored Medicine, Chapter 12 of The 1619 Project. Sister-to-Sister, Inc. wishes to recognize Sister Michelle D. Simpson, principal event planner. Sister Michele is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Philosophy, Arts & Culture Residential Academic Program at CU Boulder.  She's also a faculty member of the Student Academic Success Center, the Honors Residential Academic Program, and the Program for Excellence in Academics and Community. Her courses reflect her passion and commitment to topics including anti-racism, anti-Blackness, social justice, and the exploration of the intersections that inform myriad lived experiences.

Doing Well by Doing Good: An Intro to Legal Entrepreneurs for Justice

 

Join Ryann Peyton, President of the Colorado Bar Association and Director of the Colorado Attorneys Mentoring Program (CAMP), for a one-hour information session on Friday, October 7 at 12n via Zoom to learn about the Legal Entrepreneurs for Justice (LEJ) program, everything LEJ has to offer, and how attorneys and law firms may get involved. 

 

Legal Entrepreneurs for Justice is a small business incubator for socially conscious lawyers providing affordable legal solutions to low and middle-income people in Colorado. The cohort program prepares talented and entrepreneurial lawyers to launch and manage innovative, socially conscious, and successful law practices. 

 

CAMP, which has acquired the Legal Entrepreneurs for Justice (LEJ) program, is thrilled to be accepting applications for LEJ's 2023 training and resource cohort. Application deadline: November 1, 2022.
