CALL FOR
ARTISTS

• Application fee is $30 ($20 for students) and allows each artist 3 works. We will not accept multiple applications this year due to space constraints.

• All work must be new and original. We will not accept works that have been previously exhibited at the Sunset Vision Art Show & Sale.

• All work exhibited must be for sale.

• All 2D work must be ready to hang using either a d-ring and wire attachment or a sawtooth bracket. D-rings should be positioned no less than 2” from the top of the frame on each side in order for it to hang properly from our wire system.

• All 2D work must not exceed 30” x  40” and weigh no more than 30 lbs.

• New delivery dates (Sunday and Monday). See the schedule to the right. 
  
   

ELIGEBILITY
Artists may submit ORIGINAL work including painting, pastel, drawing, printmaking, photography, digital imaging, mosaics, stained glass, mixed media, and three-dimensional (3-D) work. **We do not accept functional art pieces (dishes, furniture, lighting; anything with a functional utilitarian purpose).

ENTRIES

• A non-refundable entry fee is $30 for non-students and $20 for students with an application. 

• Application forms must be completed, and each artist must register by July 1, 2024. 

• The entry fee and application must be submitted online or mailed directly to: Sunset Vision P.O. Box 6244 Ocean Isle Beach, NC 28469. Attention: Art Show. Payment is due prior to delivering artwork.

• Artwork must be hand-delivered on either: Sunday, August 18 between or Monday August 19 between 2 and 4 pm to Sea Trail Convention Center located at: 75A Clubhouse Rd, Sunset Beach, NC 28468.

• All artwork, when delivered, must include the following information:  (1) First and Last name (this is the name that will appear in your bio, on your wall label, and in the program. (2) Title of each work, (3) Medium, (4) Category (2D, 3D, etc.), and (5) sale price.  

• Artists are responsible for setting the price of each of their works.

SHOW CRITERIA

• ​All work must be original in concept, composition, and execution. No kits or copies of previous work will be accepted.

• All work must be for sale with a 30% commission to Sunset Vision Group retained on all sales.

• Artists may submit up to 3 pieces of art per entry fee in any category.

• Sunset Vision Group reserves the right to refuse any work that does not match the Entry and Submission guidelines or meet show criteria.

• No unsold artwork may be removed from the show by the artist until 3:30 to 4:30 pm on Saturday, August, 23, 2024.

2D CRITERIA (Also, see new rules for 2024)

• All work must be in quality frames, on gallery-wrapped canvas, or in a professional presentation.

• Must be wired securely and ready to hang using either a d-ring and wire attachment or a sawtooth bracket. D-rings should be positioned no less than 2” from the top of the frame on each side in order for it to hang properly from our wire system.

• Must not exceed 30" x 40" and weigh no more than 30 lbs.

3D CRITERIA

• May be executed in any medium to include metal, ceramic, glass, wood, paper, mixed, etc.  

• Jewelry will not be accepted.

• Work must weigh 30 lbs. or less.

• Freestanding sculptures requiring special mounting or suspension will not be accepted.

• Top-heavy or unstable work will not be accepted.

• 3D work with a top, or any type of separate piece(s) must have the separate piece(s) secured and labeled.

• Best in Show for 2D $200

• Best in Show for Photography $200

• Best in Show for 3D

• Best in Show for Mixed Media $200 (Wall-based artwork made from more than one medium. Mixed media pieces meant to be viewed in the round will be entered in the 3D category).
