Graduation Day Congratulations to our ten students who graduated from CDC on the 17th of November. Pictured here from top left they are Bridget Connolly, Michaela Scott, Maurea Perez-Varea, Christiane Shortal, Tricia Wilkins, Elise Westcott, Sandra Rajendran, Anna-Lisa White, Melevesi Manase, and Elizabeth O'Sullivan. The year ended with Graduation Mass celebrated by Pukekohe parish priest Fr Robert Steele, and attended by over 100 family, parishioners and supporters of CDC. The festivities continued in the parish hall with lunch and student speeches. One highlight of the day was the homily given by Deacon Matt Gibson, a previous student of CDC, who was ordained earlier this year for the Diocese of Hamilton: "As a past student myself, I remember two things which make CDC unique. The first is the time you have had this year for prayer, time to be alone and adore God. At the beginning of the year, nine months may have seemed like a big sacrifice, for many of you leaving work or university to come here. But there are very few people in the world who would have this opportunity. To be alone with God, to know that He longs to be close to you, must surely make up for any sacrifices you have made. The second thing that CDC offers is community life. This can be extremely difficult, sometimes everyone else seems like an enemy... but it is also a great opportunity to learn from each other, and to accept our own weaknesses and the weaknesses of others. Whatever vocation the Lord calls you to will demand your patience and compassion, and this year at CDC has surely provided you many opportunities to practice these virtues." |

Please help us send three CDC representatives to Hearts Aflame 2019! |
As part of our efforts to attract a new group of students for CDC 2019 we want to send past students Christopher, Maurea, and Christie to represent CDC at Hearts Aflame Catholic Summer School. For this we need your help! |
Hearts aims to develop and foster authentic relationship with Jesus Christ and His Holy Catholic Church through participation in the Sacraments, prayer, and formation, lived-out and experienced in a short-term community environment. It is a school of formation in Catholic theology, philosophy, and spirituality, helping participants to discover and live out their vocation. |
Young people who experience Hearts Aflame often have a new-found thirst for more. Last summer CDC sent a group of students to Hearts Aflame to promote the College and encourage other participants to consider spending a year at CDC. As a result six people were inspired to apply for CDC. |
This is why we want to send Christopher, Maurea, and Christie to Hearts Aflame 2019. Please help us as we seek to raise $1,485 to cover the registration costs of our three representatives. Click here to help us reach our goal. Thank you for your support! |

Why should someone come to CDC? At our recent Catholic Discipleship College Graduation, we took the opportunity to capture testimonies from past students. Check out Part 1 with Molly (2017) and Dan (2013). |
