This week I am gearing up to go to the Midwest to pick up two new faces for the Judith A. Bassett Canid Education and Conservation Center. A second chance for fur farms, these foxes will get a comfortable new home, a lot of love and the opportunity to educate the public on foxes and the atrocities of the fur trade. Many people in the world still do not see an issue with breeding and raising these animals for fashion. Their lives are seen as nothing more than what their pelts can make. This is a chance to change the narrative and show the value in keeping these animals out of a useless trade.

To get ready for the two new arrivals as well as a few more later in the year, I have been helping to get the new enclosures ready for them. First thing was to get the area ready by digging trenches for the cement curbs to be poured and dig guards be placed.

(above) It's not always the big animals that end up catching my attention on the trail cameras. Sometimes we end up getting small, curious visitors that are just as entertaining to watch.
(below) More of the mother and her pup. These two left a few videos on my trail cam placed at the center. Getting to see these animals in their true natural environments is a amazing reminder of why the work done at JABCECC is so important. We all want to see the success and coexistence of wild species alongside humans.
Mark your calendars! Sunday, August 13th I will be at the Judith A. Bassett Candid Education and Conservation Center holding mini sessions. These are 30 minute sessions and are a perfect way to get up to the center and meet some of their amazing ambassadors!
There is a lot of time, effort and expense that goes into creating images and working towards conservation goals that protect the wild places we visit. It would be an honor to have my work displayed in your home as a way to keep doing this work!
