MAY SHOUTOUT LET'S TALK ABOUT SUMMER |

Happy Summer! I'm taking the next 2 months off from writing on this platform – I have lots on the horizon, including changes for my office location (ie: SHE SHED COMING SOON!), summer schedules, house projects, travel, professional development/learning, and up-leveling my business. So actually I'm not sure how much of a break that will be. There really is truth to the saying, "The only thing constant in life is change." I’m excited to use my time differently and dig into working more ON my business rather than IN my business, spend quality time with my boys, work in my garden more, and share some new fun things with you when I return to your inbox in August – stay tuned! |

My Latest Article Mind Gardening There is a quote that I love: “Your mind is a garden; your thoughts are the seeds. You can grow flowers, or you can grow weeds.” In my latest Santa Barbara Independent article, I speak more about the lessons we can learn from our gardens as well as the mindful practices we can implement when tending to our plants. There really are lessons growing all around us!

What I'm Listening To Ten Percent Happier Podcast Dan Harrison (whom I enjoyed a lot when he anchored ABC news) has really taken his passion and put it to action through this podcast – there’s lots of variety in topics and I really like Dan's voice. Because let’s be honest, a LOT of podcast enjoyment is about the person's voice. Even if I LOVE the content of a podcast and find the person's voice annoying, I can’t listen to it. Thank goodness this isn't the case with Dan. 10% Happier is 100% in my book!

Something I'm Loving Whiteboard So often when I’m facilitating team meetings with my clients, no matter what we’re doing, I like to use a whiteboard or a large piece of paper on the wall as a visual to brainstorm together, anchor ideas, and facilitate agreements. I’ve been wanting one in my own office, so I finally did it—and went high-end! This glass whiteboard is just beautiful (almost like a piece of art) and comes with so much possibility. Already, I've used it to mind-map a few business ventures/growth ideas (I took pictures before erasing) and Steve and I have started a few lists. Whiteboards can be used for dumping your brain out, coming together with a partner/team for brainstorming, visual planning, looking at your monthly goals in a big picture way, and about a billion more ideas and uses. BONUS: your kids can draw you cute stuff (ie: the heart) that you can leave and have as a reminder that one day they won’t be playing around and messing up your office. |

Something I'm Hating Tracking My Food I’m currently working on some health goals and working with a trainer for a few months. Food tracking is at the top of her list to create more awareness, etc, blah blah blah. I despise this and always have, yet I see her point. So I’m diligently (and almost daily) tracking my food—much to my dismay. It certainly does create awareness and gives me some solid feedback as to my post-pandemic ways. I am using My Fitness Pal, but if you love your food tracker or have any sage advice, I’d love to hear it so I can turn this into something I’m LOVING right now, rather than something I’m hating!
