Bringing Holiday Joy

Sending a huge thank you out to local Granvillian Steve Schneider, the Rotary Club of Granville and the local Boy Scouts who, for the 19th year in a row, took great care and pride in decorating the Bryn Du fence for the season. The process takes multiple days, 3,000 feet of garland, 3,000 LED lights and many willing volunteers. We hope that the beautiful trimmings which line the outskirts of the 32-acre Great Lawn bring joy to everyone who drives or walks by this holiday season.

A Historical Before and After

Did you know that the solariums were once the spot to be when relaxing at the Mansion?  The tall windows and large spaces really made these rooms feel airy and comfortable - just where you'd like to hang out! Above to the left is a photo of the West Solarium from the time frame when Sallie Jones Sexton lived at Bryn Du (and yes, we DO think that is a monkey hanging from the closest window although we assume it is not real!). Above to the right is a photo of the very same room decorated with beautiful artworks from our recent Bryn Du Art Show. Note that, although you can't see them in the first picture due to the rug, the solarium floors are still the original tile as are almost all of the other features of the room. Next time you are visiting for a community or private event, make sure to check out these gorgeous rooms.

Bryn Du History

From the Executive Director

To our Bryn Du Family,

I am truly touched and overwhelmed by the number of people who have reached out to offer condolences to me regarding Quincy; thank you.

Of course, he was my best friend, but evidently a friend of so many many others as well. We all miss Quincy and want to honor him appropriately.  We have a few memorial ideas in mind along with some other property enhancements in his honor. Many of you have asked how one can contribute.

The Bryn Du Commission is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and contributions to this project can be sent to Bryn Du Mansion at 537 Jones Road, Granville, Ohio 43023 or via the link below at BrynDu.com.

On behalf of my family and the Bryn Du staff, I would also like to thank the Village of Granville and Mayor Hartfield for their very kind Proclamation for Quincy. It means so much and will remain on the fireplace mantel in the Bryn Du office for the foreseeable future. Thank you for the lovely honor.

Thank you again for your thoughts and well wishes.

Best wishes,

Bruce Cramer
