Have you seen our newest addition? We've got our beautiful new drive-up farm stand stocked and ready for visitors. This stand was a handcrafted by Bruce Jean (@bowhuntervt), and it houses our weekly goodies like eggs, veggies, and flowers...we even have vases and jars for sale! We're working hard to get the permanent farm store ready for customers, but in the meantime feel free to stop by the farm stand. Our new crop of fall squash will be available starting Friday--including Butterbabies (mini butternut squash) and baby acorn squash. NOTE: there is a lockbox for cash payments if you are paying on site |

We have just kicked off a wonderful new poultry season on the farm, and we sincerely hope you get the chance to come by and snag some of these yummy birds. First up, we have our Red Ranger Chickens that are packaged, frozen, and priced at $4.49/lb. These chickens are so flavorful and can easily feed your whole family. On the 17th, we will be processing a new batch of Cornish hens that can be picked up fresh or frozen. If you've never tried one of these smaller birds, then you are missing out, friends! They typically serve 2 people and are as easy to cook as any chicken you can find. Finally, if you haven't heard...we just opened our reservations for holiday turkeys. Turkeys are priced at $4.99/lb. and will be ready for pick-up the weekend before Thanksgiving.

In Chinese culture, sunflowers are said to represent good luck and lasting happiness...so you can imagine why we love having a whole bed of them. (Not to mention that they have always been Breana's favorite!) Once the beds were primed and ready for planting, we grew and harvested three varieties: Moulin Rouge (dark red), ProCut® White Nite (pale yellow), Sunrich Summer Provence (standard yellow). These beauties won't last much longer, so if you love sunflowers as much as we do then make sure you stop by grab a stem (or more!) while you still can. |

We love collecting and trying new recipes on the farm, and we love it even more when our friends, families & co-workers share their recipes with us! This recipe comes from Hilary Meyer especially for Killeen Crossroads Farm. She used some of our massive zucchinis to make this gorgeous dish. Most people don't think of zucchini as 'sweet', but it certainly tastes that way when paired with briny olives, sherry vinegar, and toasted almonds! Cutting the zucchini into larger chunks and letting it brown deeply in the pan gives it a richer flavor and a nice, firm texture. Stop by and grab some of your own so you can make this Zucchini, Toasted Almond & Castelvetrano Olive Sauté
