Thursdays through June 2021 - Veterans Experiencing Trauma Support Group, 1830 hours, 120 Springdale Ave., Wintersville (Old Bank Drive Thru next to church). If you are a male or female veteran of the US Armed Forces who is experiencing trauma as a result of your service, you are welcome to this proven, confidential, judgment-free, trauma healing care group. The faith-based program is designed to address the spiritual and moral wounds of military service. We have four leaders who are combat veterans that have used the tenets of this program to heal. September 19, October 17 - M.A.S.H. Veterans Food Pantry Monthly Food Drive, 0900 hours-noon. MASH needs canned and dry goods. Toiletries also welcome. Pantry locations: Grove City (2996 Columbus Street, Grove City, OH 43123) Delaware Pantry (222 E. William Street, Delaware, OH 43015). Pantry Goal: To continue supporting our Columbus Metropolitan Area Veterans, Military families, and Survivors of the Fallen. M.A.S.H. is extending the reach to assist with a "Statewide Give" to our 'YEAR-ROUND Homebound Veterans.
September 19 - Harleys & Heroes, 1000 - 1500 starts at Western Reserve Harley-Davidson, 8567 Tyler Blvd, Mentor. Join Fair Housing Resource Center Inc., Western Reserve Harley-Davidson, and U.S. Veterans MC Lake County for a bike run to raise funds for the Veterans Home Repair Program for veterans in Lake County.

September 20, 27; October 4, 11, 18, 25; November 1, 8, 15 and 22 - AMVETS Post 176 Annual Turkey Shoot, weekly turkey shoots at 3944 Wheatley Road, Richfield. Practice rounds start at 1000 hours, and the shoot starts at 10:10. Shooters will shoot at paper targets and may win turkeys, hams, and bacon. Sign-ups start at 0700. Breakfast starts at 0800, and will be prepared by the Ladies Auxiliary. Guns are limited to 32-inch factory barrels. This event is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! September 26 - Washington County VSC Freedom Ride, go to the VFW Post 5108 to register. First out at 1100, last out at 1300, last in at 1700. Registration 0900-1300. $15 per bike, passenger is another $5.
September 26 - WIMC Poker Run at AMVETS Post 464, sponsored by Wright Iron Veteran MC. Registration at 1000, kickstands up at 1100, last bike out at noon, last bike in at 1700. Raffle prizes, 50/50, silent auction and more. Entry fee is $15 for a single and $20 for two and up.
September 30 - Veterans and Families Virtual Veteran Suicide Prevention Forum, 0900-1500, Veteran Counseling Veterans will hold it’s 2nd Annual Virtual Veteran and Community Suicide Prevention Summit. The summit will consist of 5 panels on the following topic areas: Veteran Suicide and the Family, Faith Based and Veteran Suicide, Military Sexual Trauma and Suicide, Veteran Community Townhall, Mental Health and Veteran Suicide and a discussion on Suicide Prevention Training.
October 2 - Athens Area Stand Down, 1000-1400, Athens County Fairgrounds, 286 W. Union St. Open to the Public for veterans and anyone who is at risk for homelessness.
October 4 - Sons of AMVETS Post 698 Three Gun Raffle, Raffling off a Radical Arms AR15 556, Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 2.0 9mm and a Ruger LCP2 380. Raffle held at the Post in Middle Point. $10 a ticket or three for $25. Contact the post for details.
October 7 & 13 - Laura's Summit County Mini Stand Down, due to ongoing health concerns, The Annual Laura Dunlop’s Summit County Stand-down will not occur. In its place with the assistance of service organizations throughout Summit County, the Summit County Veterans Service Commission is hosting a mini stand-down. This will be a “Pickup” only event. Boxes of clothing and toiletries will be prepared for individuals for pickup. Register here. Boxes will be prepared as a first registered-first served. Supplies are limited. Registrations will be accepted up to October 7. Pickup will occur on Tuesday, October 13 1000– 1400. Unregistered veterans are welcome. Veterans must present proof of service and a photo ID.
October 17 - Veterans Golfers Association Ohio State Championship, 1300-1900, Country Club of the North, Xenia. $114 stroke play. A buffet will be served after the round and awards will be presented.
October 23-25 - AMVETS Department of Ohio Fall Conference, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Worthington, limited hospitality, limited meetings, COVID-19 procedures in effect (social distancing at meetings and masks will be required). Registration is $25 and online registration will open on 1 September. A mail-in form is available on www.ohamvets.org.
