the same but different

I'm lucky my ideas for novels just come to me through some alchemy of what I've been through and what's happening in the world. Authors are advised to write in the same genre, but I always break this rule. Tequila Midnight is a mystery, while The Podcast Chronicles is contemporary fiction. The next book will be different again, a thriller. It will have the suspense of Tequila Midnight but isn't a mystery.

My novels do all have the same theme, they feature a woman with a goal, huge obstacles (internal and external) standing in her way, and she has to save herself.

While their differences may make my novels hard to find because they're shelved in different places and may appeal to different types of readers, I love the freedom to tell the stories that are important to me.

help an author out - leave a review

Reviews are incredibly important for authors because they help people find our books. Amazon's algorithm uses reviews to decide which readers see what books. Just a line or two about what you liked in a novel makes a huge difference.

Whether you've read the paperback or ebook version or listened to the audiobook, if you haven't left a review, I'd sure appreciate it. If you have, thank you! Tequila Midnight is closing in on 100 reviews, which is a huge milestone.

Happy Travels: Brazil

I came by my love of travel through my parents. Much of my childhood was spent in the back of a car traveling through the western United States. Mom always had a cooler of snacks and sandwich makings at the ready. Later, she and I traveled on some great trips together including one through southern Mexico, and this visit to Argentina and Brazil.

I've instilled the same love of travel in my kid. Who is your favorite travel partner?
