Salado Montessori

Weekly Update

Howdy parents and community - what a busy few weeks we've enjoyed!

From a lovely visit from our photographer extraordinaire Stefanie Thomas, to another great volunteer day, we have been blessed as a school by so much.

The kiddos spent their time on many new fun works, including Flower Arranging, the Binomial Cube, and our Geometric Solids.

Student Art in Silent Auction

The Chisholm Trail Chapter of the American Women's Business Association hosted their annual Style Show and Silent Auction.

Claire Smith's work was entered as an auction piece!

Proceeds from the event go to Salado High School seniors to be used at the College or University of their choice.

Thanks, Claire!

End of Year Potluck Picnic

In just two weeks our first semester will come to an end.  We'd like to celebrate with you!  Please mark your calendars for

June 1, 4:00, Pace Park

Each family is asked to bring a dish.

Be on the lookout for a flyer with all the details soon.

DONOR RECOGNITION

We have received so much and are deeply grateful for all the help!

Thank you June Ritterbusch and Salado Wine Sellers for donating the rock that made the wall of our keyhole garden, thank you Kevin of Heart of Texas feed for donating the soil, and thank you Brian Cornett for helping transport all of the leaves and compost!

The Montessori method has been the subject of recent research.

It was found that "Montessori children fared better on measures of academic achievement, social understanding, and mastery orientation, and they also reported relatively more liking of scholastic tasks. They also scored higher on executive function when they were 4. In addition to elevating overall performance on these measures, Montessori preschool also equalized outcomes among subgroups that typically have unequal outcomes."  Pretty cool stuff!  Click here to read more:
