Liss LaFleur is a transmedia artist based in Texas. Her work broadly explores the relationships between gender, technology, and identity.
LaFleur has received awards and fellowships from the John F. Kennedy Center, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and the Ford Foundation. Her work has been reviewed in Slate, the Advocate, Hyperallergic, and the Brooklyn Rail. From botanic gardens to large-scale projections on the Brooklyn Bridge, notable presentations and screenings include the TATE Modern (London), SXSW (Austin, TX), the Reykjavik Art Museum (Iceland), the Contemporary Art Museum (Houston, TX), Telematic Media Arts (San Francisco, CA), Museum of Glass (Tacoma, WA), and the Czong Institute for Contemporary Art (South Korea), among others.
She is the founder of the Future Feminist Lab and teaches New Media Art/ Feminist Discourse as an Associate Professor in the College of Visual Art and Design at the University of North Texas.
