BIG Buzz!!
Open House, Saturday, September 16, 4pm - 7:30pm
Wow! PPRV will soon have an office!
We are looking foward to sharing a lovely space in downtown Phoenix with
Beyond Toxics and Center for Creative Change.
Everyone is invited to our Open House and Fundraiser!
This new joint venture brings exciting possibilities to the Valley.
Our office will be a place to gather to create the change that needs to happen around pesticides and the harm they cause pollinators and people alike, coalesce organizations and businesses working to create a sustainable Valley,
offer community events and educational sessions, and support creative thought, environmental justice, and community actions and solutions.
Let's welcome Beyond Toxics to Southern Oregon!
Beyond Toxics is a statewide environmental justice and pesticide-free advocacy organization and already has projects in Southern Oregon!
Come connect with Center for Creative Change
and learn about their plans to support sustainable businesses in the Valley!
Refreshments, music, pollinator art, games for children of all ages, and more!

Buzzin' About the Buzzway!
Saturday, September 16, 4pm - 7:30pm
What if there was an online map of all the pollinator-friendly places in the Valley, showing both public and private lands?
What if we could 'see' - from a butterfly's perspective - where protected lands,
farm land, pollinator gardens, city parks, and more are located ......
or more importantly, where they are NOT?
Would a Rogue Buzzway map guide our decisions on where to put in more
pollinator habitat?
Our food security and our ecosystem depends on pollinators - help us help them!
(See Norway's map for an example of what can be done!)
Come to our Open House next month to see our first-ever map and meet
Ollie Bucolo, map maker extraordinaire!
We hope you will show your support for this important project by
making a contribution to our Buzzway Fund!

We Marched Fourth!
We had a great time in this year's Fourth of July parade!
Thank you to everyone who helped make this the best pollinator parade yet!
A special thank you goes to the Monarch Singers for sharing their song with us!
Let's do it again next year!
See pictures below.

Pollinators' Picks
The Monarch Joint Venture is a partnership of federal and state agencies, nongovernmental organizations, and academic programs working together
to protect the monarch migration across the lower 48 United States.
This excellent summary from MJV about this very important topic is indicitive
of the high level of concern about continued use of neonicotinoids.
Risks of Neonics to Pollinators
USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) recently published
its non-citrus fruits and nuts summary for the 2016 growing season.
According to their simple graph, these fruits contributed at least
$686 million to Oregon's economy.
Let's thank our honey bees, mason bees and other native bees, flies, and other pollinators that had a hand - wing! - in creating this bounty!
