Guild of Ships (GOS) Smooth Bookings, Circular Economy We are working hard on our time-saving app for the eco sail sector! Guild of Ships (GOS) is a travel bookings platform for shipowners, captains, sailors and agents, co-designed by a shipowner. It offers advanced security and full GDPR compliance. Members join for free and GOS earns by charging a commission on each transaction.
The platform is low-profile and simple to conect to. Features include: in-depth overview of voyages and bookings; a Passenger Portal for clear communication; and automated invoices. We are in the final stages of registering as a company - then we will link with Stripe for easy payments.
We are developing GOS in response to the needs of the community. And GOS is also a circular economy platform. Ships recommend each other, earn commission and help to grow the sector.
For more information please view our slideshow or we will be happy to give you an online demonstratio. We are glad to be part of Fair Winds Collective! Bill Carslake, Wille Christiani, Anthony Griffith, co-founders.

Fair Hamburg SMM 2024 Shipbuilding, Machinery & Marine Technology The "Shipbuilding, Machinery & Marine Technology" fair, known as "SMM Hamburg," stands as a beacon of innovation and collaboration in the shipbuilding and maritime technology industries. This event is not just a meeting point for professionals - it's a catalyst for change, where the latest technological advancements and sustainable solutions in the maritime sector are brought to the forefront. By showcasing cutting-edge technologies, SMM Hamburg empowers participants to stay ahead of the curve, embracing the trends and challenges that will shape a greener future for our oceans and industries. The fair also offers unparalleled networking opportunities, fostering the creation of new partnerships and the strengthening of existing connections, all with a shared vision of a sustainable maritime economy. This year, Peggy, Ursel, and Laura from the Fair Winds Collective attended SMM Hamburg with a mission: to network, contribute, and champion the movement toward a greener, more sustainable maritime future. SMM Hamburg is more than just a trade fair; it's a vital force driving the transformation and optimization of the maritime sector. Our focus on sustainability, and our firm stance against greenwashing, underscores the urgency of the moment. The message is clear: there is no time to lose—bold and decisive action is needed to secure a green future. While there were moments of concern, as Peggy and Laura encountered business models that merely paid lip service to sustainability, our overall experience reaffirmed our commitment to real, impactful change. We saw past the superficial green banners and recognized the true potential for innovation. Now is the time to move beyond empty promises and embrace solutions that genuinely address the challenges of our planet. This isn't just about business; it's about ensuring a thriving future for generations to come. We urge everyone to be courageous, to unite, and to make decisions that go beyond personal gain. Together, we can achieve a healthy environment and a future full of hope. The time for change is now. Let's continue down the path of saving our planet, with optimism as our guiding star. Reflections of a Sailor's Mum "She began her seafaring life when she was still my little girl. At the tender age of 15, she embarked upon the vast and treacherous ocean, and from that moment, there was no turning back. Her journey led her to a maritime college, and thereafter, her vacations were spent hard at work, grafting away on distant coasts. And then there are the others, those young souls - adolescents and young women, yet so capable, scaling the lofty masts upon the high seas. Their choice is a rare and special one. Rather than spending their hours and days earning a few coins within the confines of the neo liberal machine, they choose to brave the ropes, at first diligently filling their sailor's books, day by day. Perhaps later on, a few may rise to the rank of mate or captain of a fine ship. I admire them for their courage; I envy their adventures. In my heart, I wish I were one of them. I wish them fair winds and following seas, with all my heart." Article: by Maaike de Jong, Pic by AI |

🌍 Sailing into the Future The Fair Winds Collective and Modern Maritime Innovation The Fair Winds Collective is promoting a maritime renaissance, connecting the tradition of sail-powered cargo ships with cutting-edge innovations in sustainable shipping. This blend of old and new is beautifully captured the following YouTube video, which showcases traditional vessels transporting goods with the power of the wind. The Collective's mission goes beyond preserving history; it embraces modern advancements like Wing Assisted Ship Propulsion (WASP) and companies such as TransOceanic Wind Transport (TOWT). WASP systems, which use aerodynamic wings to reduce fuel consumption, represent a modern evolution of wind-powered navigation. TOWT's vessels, while equipped with contemporary technology, continue the legacy of sail shipping by primarily relying on wind power. The Fair Winds Collective's work highlights how traditional sailing can be revitalized to meet today’s environmental challenges. By merging centuries-old practices with innovative technologies, they are helping to chart a course toward a more sustainable future for global shipping. #Sustainability #CargoSailing #Activism #Community #Leisure #EcoFriendly #Research #Innovation #ClimateChange #SustainableLiving #EnvironmentalAwareness #FairWind #FairWindSCollective Article: by Maaike de Jong YouTube Video: |
