Summer in Full Swing

Summer has hit hard! So much abundance in the garden, spending time with friends, and enjoying all the things.

Here are all the new things that we've been up to!

BRAND NEW! Our First Product

We finally got our first products up and running: wood chips!

Apple Wood and Peach Wood chips make for great BBQ and smoking poultry, ribs, and seafood. Our heirloom apple trees and peach trees are never sprayed with chemicals or pesticides and these wood chips make a great addition to any cookout. Check out our wood chips here.

A Closer Look

We have had copious amounts of cucumbers, zucchini, lettuce, cilantro, basil, thyme, oregano, onions and carrots ready for harvest. We harvested all our carrots and have been curing our onions, and the cucumbers and zucchini are still proliferative. I (Olympia) am standing next to tomato bushes that are still growing, which by now are well over 6'5" tall. We should have a ripe tomato harvest in the next few weeks as the majority of our tomatoes are still green and growing. We've gotten a few ripe Black Krim tomatoes, and I can honestly say I've never tasted a tomato so amazing!

What do we do with all these vegetables?

I'm sure if you're at all remotely interested in our garden since you're reading this email update, you're wondering, "what on earth are they going to do with all this produce??"

We have:

  • Given a good majority away to friends and neighbors

  • Sold some of our cucumbers and zucchini at our friend's bakery

  • Made about 30 jars of Bread & Butter Pickles, 6 jars of Fermented Pickles,12 jars of regular pickles, 11 jars of mustard pickle relish and are still going

  • Made zucchini bread & muffins as well as chocolate sourdough zucchini bread with dark and white chocolate chips

  • Frozen 15+ bags of shredded zucchini for future zucchini bread-making

  • Made many Thai cucumber salads, stir-fries, and farm-to-table salads using our own lettuce, onions, radishes and more

  • Juiced our cucumbers and watermelon for a refreshing Summer Watermelon Cucumber Sparkler

Thank you for your interest in our journey. Please don't forget to check out our etsy listing for peach and apple wood chips if you need a birthday gift for the dad or bro in your life who like smoking/BBQing! Our website is coming soon.
