MMBTN Executive Director
Susan Campbell, MD
This month, I would like to show my sincere gratitude to our Milk Drop Depot Directors and their teams. Milk Drop Depots offer an amazing service by providing a convenient place for approved donor mothers to drop off their milk. Donations are logged and properly stored at the Depots until they are transferred to our facility in Murfreesboro.
Depots historically have helped the Human Milk Banking Association of North America (HMBANA) Milk Banks, such as ours, to receive donor milk from locations distant to milk banks. The directors at each Milk Drop Depot are an essential part of our team and operations. I applaud each of you for your hard work and strategic partnership with us. Your leadership sends a message to your community that you value and support breastfeeding mothers.
Last November, we opened our 16th Milk Drop Depot at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin. Tracey McMahon, RN, IBCLC, MMBTN's State Depot Director, also serves as the Depot Director at Sumner Regional Medical Center. Tracey opened our 1st Milk Drop Depot at Nashville General Hospital seven years ago this month.

I look forward to recognizing our Milk Drop Depot Directors and their impact at our Annual Meeting on Monday, March 27 at 7pm at Franklin Marriott Cool Springs. I hope each of you will join us as we celebrate the accomplishments from 2022 that were made possible by supporters like you. Please see below for more details.
