Hooker Herald

Welcome to the NEW Hooker Herald! This will be an email newsletter that will be sent out to current paid membership volunteers 3 times a month!

Members will still be encouraged to visit the website for up to date news, minutes, financials and event committee meeting minutes.

Welcome new Members!

Tracy, Jean, Jennifer, Gwen, Ruth and Ellen!!

We are so pleased you have joined us!! Be sure to meet the new members at the next general meeting!

We are anxious to see our fellow Sister Hookers return for the winter season!  Safe travels to you all and we look forward to seeing you soon.  In the meantime; don’t forget that we’re now hosting all General Membership Meetings via WebEx.  We will start to host many of our committee meetings that way soon.

A big Thank You goes out to Jeannie, Shirley, Linda, Sandy, Anita, Genie, Beth and Karen for helping sort out Christmas items that have been donated to be displayed and available for purchase at the OLMM (Catholic Church in Bokeelia on Stringfellow) Annual Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, November 14th from 9:00am until Noon.  Beth, Anita, Karen and DJ will be volunteering that day.  If you have Christmas decorum that you would like to donate, please let me know before November 7th.  We’ll be delighted to accept any donations and add to our selections.

We have received a generous offer from one of our members to take over the responsibilities of Webmistress from Madam Julia; we’ll announce her name soon. Julia has done a wonderful job of setting up our current website, sending out the Hooker Heralds and will serve as backup.  Thank you for a job well done Julia!

Ronald McDonald House is no longer accepting pull tabs due to Covid 19.  However; please continue to bring tabs to our meetings.  We have a choice that we can discuss at the next meeting.  We can either collect and take to the recycling location on Doug Taylor Circle and exchange for cash, then forward checks directly to the Ronald McDonald House; OR donate the tabs to the American Legion as they are doing the same thing.

IMPORTANT – Our next committee meeting for the P.I.E Project will be on Wednesday, October 28th at Little Lilly’s Deli beginning at 6:00pm.  If you would like to be a part of the committee for this project, please let me know and we’ll forward an agenda prior to the meeting.

Also, Sandy Kerr is working on decorations and could use some "clam-like" shells in pairs. Think of a small Bra cups of shells; about the size of a quarter or fifty cent piece.
