Hello!

🍂We hope you’re doing well and that you’re enjoying fall and pumpkin-flavored everything as much as we are! 🎃

At Thinkly Solutions, we're committed to helping you transform your team's meetings into powerful drivers of collaboration and productivity. In this newsletter, we're diving into the world of meeting engagement levels.

Level 1: Disengagement ⭐️

First things first, do your teams have clear norms for when to have meetings versus using other forms of communication? Do they know when and how to leverage different meeting tools? Without addressing these fundamental aspects, disengagement is inevitable.

Level 2: Confusion ⭐️⭐️

Have you ever experienced meetings that leave you feeling more puzzled than informed? Effective meetings should clearly state their objectives, define attendee roles, and use language that resonates with the audience. Confusion often stems from a lack of clarity in these areas.

Level 3: Distraction ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Distractions can be a killer of meeting productivity. Do your teams have norms in place to limit distractions, and are these boundaries respected? Additionally, providing attendees with time outside of meetings to complete their work is essential for meaningful engagement.

Level 4: Low-Impact Engagement ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Meeting engagement can be significantly improved by incorporating facilitation skills and tools that encourage participation. Simple calls to action, such as check-in rounds and reaction rounds, can help maintain attendees' focus and involvement.

Level 5: High-Impact Engagement ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

When you reach this level, meetings are not just gatherings; they are strategic events. Here, meeting objectives are directly linked to your team's mission and goals and they are designed to encourage diverse perspectives and drive productive discussions. They leave participants feeling accomplished and create momentum for high-impact work post-meeting.

Remember, these levels build on each other. You can’t reach level 5 without making sure you’ve unlocked levels 1-4! For example, you may have designed the most amazing meeting ever, but if your participants don’t know how to use the technology you’re asking them to (level 1), they won’t be able to get past that.

Stay tuned for our next newsletter focused on meeting norms. We'll only pop into your inbox occasionally, ensuring your valuable time is well spent.
