The Kindly Hearts Initiative serves as the umbrella to our philanthropic focus on supporting children experiencing foster care or homelessness.

Alpha Xi Delta chapters and associations have the opportunity to support key impact organizations making a national or regional difference under the umbrella of our focus as well as the option to collaborate with local impact organizations that support children experiencing foster care or homelessness.

Who Does the Kindly Hearts Initiative Support?

  • Key Impact Organizations
Key impact organizations making a national or regional difference under the umbrella of our focus benefit from the fundraising efforts of our National Impact Campaign, Letters of Love. Alpha Xi Delta has identified
FosterClub and StandUp for Kids as our key impact organizations.

  • Local Impact Organizations
Chapters and associations collaborate with local impact organizations that support children experiencing foster care or homelessness.

How Does the Kindly Hearts Initiative Work?

  • National Impact Campaign
Alpha Xi Delta members participate in Letters of Love, a national letter-writing campaign that benefits key impact organizations making a national difference in supporting children and teens experiencing foster care or homelessness. Chapters, alumnae associations and individual members fundraise for both key impact organizations, FosterClub or StandUp for Kids. Through the Letters of Love campaign, Alpha Xi Delta Sisters share their personal stories of why they choose to support the Kindly Hearts Initiative.

  • Signature Chapter Fundraising Events
The AmaXIng Challenge is Alpha Xi Delta’s signature fundraising event benefitting The Kindly Hearts Initiative. Each chapter hosts an annual AmaXIng Challenge fundraising event.

  • Localized Service
Chapters and associations are encouraged to find an organization(s) in their community to collaborate with for service opportunities. Service could be individually based or chapter/association wide projects.

CASA de Esperanza de los Ninos and AXiD
Alpha Xi Delta's National Philanthropy  is called the "Kindly Hearts Initiative (KHI)." Our Collegiate Chapters and Alumnae Associations across the nation are creating project plans within one or more of the following areas of focus: supporting students, food insecurity, and basic needs shortages.

Houston has selected CASA de Esperanza de los Ninos which strives to break the cycle of child abuse and neglect for at-risk infants, children and their families by providing comprehensive residential and family support programs that transform people and communities.

We look forward to volunteering together!

12th Annual CASA Chili Cookoff

Supporting CASA and promoting Alpha Xi Delta, our team of Chili Cookers took their David's Sorority Chicks--and Chili to the most recent Casa Chili Cookoff. This was the second year of AXiD's participation in the event, the 12th year for CASA.

Ivonne Delgado named as a National Lifetime Engagement Director

Houston Alumna Ivonne Delgado was appointed as a National Lifetime Engagement Director. In this role, Ivonne has the bold goals to perpetuate lifetime membership in all aspects of the Fraternity and ensure that all alumnae understand the many ways they can participate in AXiD; to develop and support alumnae programming that is accessible and engaging to all Sisters and that increases alumnae support for chapter and involvement in the National Fraternity; and, to cultivate growth within communities of Alpha Xi Delta across the country.

Alpha Xi Delta would not be the organization it is today without the generous contribution of time and talent from our alumnae volunteers.

Update on National Fraternity Headquarters

After months of thoughtful discussion, consideration and input from volunteers and staff, National Council moved forward with an opportunity to sell the Fraternity Headquarters building at 8702 Founders Road in Indianapolis. The physical location closed in September 2022.

The decision to sell the Fraternity Headquarters’ office was not made lightly. As always with everything decision we make, we remain committed to being thoughtful stewards of the Fraternity’s finances and that Alpha Xi Delta continues to remain a strong organization that inspires women to realize their potential.
