Dear Livingsong family,
Today is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it Amen? We are thrilled to share with you this month’s newsletter update. Once again, our Lord Almighty has graciously provided, hallelujah! During our time serving in Orlando, FL this May, we joined our new friends at SALT (Service and Love Together) to serve men, women, and children experiencing homelessness. SALT is a youth and young adult ministry organization with the mission of sharing Christ's love by serving the unsheltered through comprehensive mobile drop-in centers in the city of Orlando. After setting a date to come and lead a Sunday afternoon chapel service, we also set a goal to gather at least five hundred (500) undergarment items to donate. The Lord instead provided six hundred and fifty (650) undergarment items!! Praise God 🙌 What made this memorable day extra special was sharing this experience with the family and friends who joined us. The Gospel was proclaimed at the service, and our team shared the love of Christ to those who attended. Special thanks to Gisella Melendez (niece), Elsa Garcia (mom), Michael Smith (our violinist), Robert Heart, Pastor Gerard (SALT staff), Pastor Dennis and Tamara Jones (ministry partners). Volunteering with us was such a tremendous encouragement. We also owe our gratitude to every ministry monthly partner. The blessing of your faithful monetary support continues to mobilize our mission. We can’t thank you enough!
No matter what door the Lord opens for us to walk through in this ministry, large or small, everyone matters because they matter to God, Amen? Dear ministry partners, God sees your faithfulness to this mission, and we trust Him to see you through in every area of need according to His purposes and plans. “He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness.” (2 Corinthians 9:10). As children of God, let’s not lose our commitment to the high calling and standard Jesus has placed on our lives. “My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.” (1 John 3:18) Furthermore, in everything we say and do, we are to exemplify and resemble the image of our Lord and Savior, because He is the only hope for humanity. Every faithful prayer and encouraging word does not go unnoticed and continues to strengthen us and lift up our spirits through every challenge we face. Because of what God has done over the last eleven (11) years and what He continues to do through our mission efforts, with your partnership, we will remain steadfast to this calling. “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.” (Romans 1:16)
So what’s next?
It’s been three crazy weeks at camp with our friends at Camp Anderson! By the way, they have rebranded their name to “Realife”. Some of the fun activities kids are enjoying here are waterslides, the infamous “blob”, fishing, kayaking, paintball, and much more. The most important part of camp that has ministered to us personally this summer is the preaching. Each week we have seven (7) worship services with the youth, counselors and camp staff. We praise God for what He has already done with over 100 salvation decisions and baptisms! Once our season serving here is finished, if the Lord wills, we will be headed further south towards Fort Lauderdale/Miami and then across to the Southwest area before beginning our trip back up the northeast coast of the U.S! With that being said, the current need for our ministry is willing and able new team members and musicians who love the Lord, to join us on the road. Your prayers towards this need are greatly appreciated. “Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” (Matthew 9:37-38).
In closing, we want to encourage you to please share with us how we may be in prayer for you. There is power in prayer when we diligently seek the One who is faithful to hear our prayers as we intercede for one another and bear each other's burdens. Until next time, always remember God has been faithful before, and He will be faithful again. May He give you His divine peace as you seek Him daily. “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” (Galatians 6:2)
