The summer solstice is a time for strength and vitality for action and movement. ― Carole Carlton
The summer solstice has a special meaning for me. Or rather, one of the symbols of the solstice does. I grew up half an hour from the original solstice marker - Stonehenge. I didn't go to the dawn rituals for the summer solstice, but it's something I've always know about. I was tickled to learn though that it's now thought that the winter solstice was more important to the builders of Stonehenge - that means the revelers celebrate 6 months late and facing the wrong way every year!
If you're ever in that part of Wiltshire, I also can recommend exploring some of the other ancient markers - like Avebury stone circle. The whole area is now a World Heritage Site and a reminder that people have been trying to figure out how things work for thousands of years.
Brand strategy
Brand hierarchy workshop
As companies grow, they can become increasingly complex. You might think of new products, or new audiences to aim at. Keeping everything you’re doing cohesive under a single brand can become challenging and if you’re not careful, your brand can become an unwieldy monster. Sometimes it can be useful to take a step back and look at everything you’re doing and see where it fits. This is what we did for Second Act Women this month in a great workshop. The organization is rapidly growing and the ideas are flowing so we wanted to take some time and organize what they’ve got so we could set some brand rules and ensure consistency across all of their activities.
Rocky Mountain Elder Law’s mission is to preserve its clients' legacies. At the heart of this is helping them prevent and mitigate financial exploitation. To help clients gain a full understanding of what financial exploitation is and how it can be fought, we created a guide. This is helpful for anyone who has a vulnerable loved one as financial exploitation of the elderly is unfortunately a relatively common occurrence.
I've been writing a lot of case studies for clients recently and there's definitely a formula to creating a good one. Here are my top tips for writing compelling case studies.
If your website isn’t ADA compliant, you could face web accessibility-related lawsuits. Here are more reasons why ADA compliance is an absolute must for your site.
This month’s color is teal, in honor of this little dude I spotted while hiking in the canyons of the Colorado National Monument.
I grew up in a very verdant and bucolic part of the world and sparse environments like mountains and deserts fascinate me. Plants and wildlife manage to live in the most inhospitable of places and some can only live there because other soils would be too rich or have too much water. It's a privilege to be able to explore them.
