Hello Democrats!
The year is more than halfway over and it seems like we are going backwards every day when it comes to getting out of (or even ahead of) this global pandemic. 

Covid numbers are triple what they were last year and this is without any mitigation efforts from our Republican-controlled leadership. On July 27th the ban on mask mandates will go into effect and at the same time, the state legislature has the power to reconvene and put a stop to this. And all this is raging on as people are getting ready to head back to school, teacher vaccination rates are extremely low across the state, and children under 12 cannot even receive the vaccine at this time. School starts in just over 20 days. 

It is a scary state of affairs in Arkansas, for sure. 

I urge you all to set the example by wearing masks in public/indoor places again, continue to support science and vaccines, and call your #ARLEG members and ask them to reconvene the session ASAP to save the lives of Arkansas children (as well as all Arkansans who have decided not to get vaccinated for selfish reasons).

AFDW Membership Meeting

We are excited to continue bringing you virtual content in line with the meetings we have been hosting online for the last several months. 

We will focus on general updates from around the state including County Club reports, we'll hear from the newly elected NFDW Southern Region Director, Kathy Adams, we'll take a quick look back at the work AFDW has done and share our goals, hopes, and dreams for the next 15 months, as well as hear from candidates

We need your help to track data, organize information, and support the information that needs to be shared. 

COMMITTEES OF AFDW

• Rules, Resolutions, and Revisions - review the Bylaws annually and make recommendations to the Executive Board 
• Programming - works to plan programming throughout the year and the AFDW annual convention every August
• Fundraising -  planning and  implementing fundraising events
• County auxiliary expansion - shall work with counties not yet affiliated to kick off affiliation and monitor progress, reporting, start-up, etc.
• Candidate recruitment - as simple as asking your friends and neighbors to run for office and helping them get the tools they need to move forward with filing

Additional work being done by volunteers

• Organize Data - we're making it easier to contact different committees and groups. Can you help with some data entry work? 
• Communications - Share and Create Content - we want to make sure no matter where you are online or not, you can get up-to-date information from AFDW. We need members to share from our Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts to their own pages and groups to help signal boost and amplify.

• Register Voters - it's never too early to register to VOTE. Be sure to ask everyone you know if they are registered and ask them to confirm their voter information is still accurate. You can do this by visiting VoterView.
