Random Thoughts Boy does it feel good to be re-open, all be it outdoors only, but we will count our blessings! We do not know when our indoor facility will be given the go ahead, and we’re putting in our best effort to make that happen. The moment I hear word, trust me I won’t keep it a secret. In the meantime… The nicest thing about being open is seeing all of you and how happy you are playing tennis again! Your appreciation of BTC being re-open and genuine concern for our well-being. Watching you adjust to the distance, disinfectant, tennis ball thing has put a smile on my face. Puzzlement and doubt soon turn into problem solving and satisfaction. There have been some good one liners and follow-up emails summarizing your experience. Discretion prevents me from disclosure. Need to tip my hat to Kristopher, Reuben and staff for getting our outdoor facility ready. The clay courts are playing better than ever. We’ve given the grounds and clay a facelift, including new lines on 3 of the 4 courts. I think everyone is truly enjoying the courts, setting, and overall experience. A not so subtle comment to a self-reference I made in our March newsletter about my retirement, but sweeping, watering and rolling clay courts must simply be in my DNA. |

Pro Shop Is now open for business! For starters, it is high time to restring your racquet. Strings simply go flat over time whether they have been used or not, and we recommend going a few pounds looser on the clay as well as Hybrid string for the added topspin. Replacing worn shoes to give you better gripping for the clay and edge up on your opponent. And there has never been a better time to frequently change over grips. If you plan to come up and shop, we recommend you call or contact us 1st so we can set up a time. So, not to be denied, our Annual April Spring Fling Sale is now the June feels like Spring Sale! What’s two months? 20% off All clothing, shoes and bags the entire month of June. In celebration of our CV reopen we will discount the Wilson Clash family Racs 10% off! (In stock only) We have Tennis balls - Wilson & Penn $4.00 Babolat - $3.00 |

Bathrooms Now that a portion of our building is open (proshop) we feel we can lift the bathroom quarantine and open up the rest rooms (not shower or locker room). Hurray! When mother-nature calls, no need to curse my name in vein anymore! Yes we will sanitize often. |

Contract Make-ups Are going well! We are alternating getting each contract their make-up time, booking courts outdoors until 8:30pm. If you have not been in contact with Trace, please reach out ASAP so we can get you on the schedule. Our make-up policy is flexible; you can make up your contract any day/time there is a court available. You can make up two in one week. If a multiple court contract, you can play one court at one time, and the 2nd court at a difference time. In addition, once we open indoors, we will schedule make-ups both indoor and outdoor all summer long if need be. We are giving all contracts until December 31, 2020 for makeups. If you haven’t got the gist, we want you to get in your contract makeups! (pic rt Libby, Fargo, Laurie) |

Adult Camps Beginning June 8th Adult Camp will run Monday - Thursday from 8am- 10am! Time up moved to accomodate contract makeups. Be the first to sign up! Time to get back in the swing of things! |

USTA Adult Leagues Yes we have a plan! As to the uncertain nature of when indoors opens back up, we are looking to run a scaled down version of Adult leagues on weekends starting June 13. Two court matches, doubles only, smaller team rosters. We will schedule Zoom meetings with league captains this week to organize. As you know, with no playoffs all leagues will be local only, and we intend to capitalize on this feature to offer refreshing changes and highlight local play and fun as the focal point of league play. |

Summer Camp We are taking different approach to Summer Junior Tennis. BTC will run junior drill sessions with 4 juniors or less per court. The word camp connotes a large group gathering, which is not social distancing. We envision summer junior tennis in a different light. We will assign kids a specific court ahead of time that they report to at a specific time, avoiding log jam in our lounge and any mass gathering. Pros will rotate courts so juniors can stay in place. We can and will make daily adjustments so kids have a chance to play with other kids of a similar level. We will ask kids to wear a glove on their non- playing hand in case they pick up tennis balls, and for serving. We will e-mail out videos and instructional attachments as teaching aides. I hope to avoid Zoom meetings! There is a large contingent of up and coming advanced juniors in the 10-14 year old range that we plan on taking to the next level. BTC will carefully craft drill and play sessions for these juniors so they can continue to advance their skills as a unit, in spite of the virus. Stay tuned! (pic left Evan w/Bronze class) |
