AUCTION PREP IS WRAPPING UP

By Karen McCoy

Auction Co-Chair

Final preparations for our annual fund raiser the 2019 Pearls of Wisdom Luncheon, Fashion Show and Auction are underway! If you have not purchased your tickets for the event please do so quickly. This year, for the first time, we are using an electronic auction that features on-line bidding using your cell phone, iPad or computer. We are excited about this change and hope you will have fun with it. Bidding opened September 1 and closes at noon on September 14, the day of the luncheon.

Review all the auction items on-line and bid. Also share the site link with your friends to encourage more bidders. In addition to the on-line auction, we will have a live auction and a fashion show by Cabi at the luncheon September 14. You will also be able to meet our current scholarship winners at the luncheon (see more below). We will feature a wine grab this year as well. So much fun - hope you will join us!

Many thanks to all our members who have worked so diligently to prepare this event. Doors open at 10:30 a.m.

 President’s Message

It’s hard to believe August is behind us. The end of summer and summer fun. I hope all of you were able to take some time this summer to relax and regroup. I spent a wonderful week in Florida with my niece. We sat on the beach and listened to the sounds of God’s creations, the ocean waves, birds and children playing in the sand. Every evening we went to the beach to marvel at the glorious sunset Our Creator, God the Father provided for our amazement and joy. It was a week of relaxation and reflection. I have returned renewed.

With the end of summer comes fall and with fall, the Pearls of Wisdom event. The committee, especially our co-chairs, Karen McCoy and Cindy Zwickel have been working diligently tagging, categorizing and inputting the auction items to get everything ready to go live for the online auction. It has been quite an undertaking, but I believe we are ready.  Thanks to all the extraordinary woman who have worked so hard on this event. But we are not done yet.

Please buy tickets, invite your friends, and start to bid on all the items in the auction. We are still accepting wine for the blind wine sale.  If you have more wine, email me teri431@gmail.com and we make arrangements to pick it up.

You may also make a contribution to the scholarship fund, directly. Simply go to the website www.ncbwl.org or send a check to P.O. Box 50994, Nashville, TN 37205.

Pray for a successful event, not for us but for the young ladies who benefit from the scholarships.

With a grateful and prayerful heart,

Teri Gordon,

NCBWL President
