Map of Coastal Indicators Released |
Coastal areas are crucial ecosystems, supporting a diverse range of plants and animals. Monitoring these areas via satellites allows for better exploration and protection. The Coastal Map presented in this document provides high-resolution data (approximately 10 meters) essential for analysing and processing information about coastal zones. It uses the WSG84 projection and is divided into 3x3 degree grid files, significantly reducing the workload and processing time for ecological assessments. The map provides 4 important indicators for coastal areas. The details about the freely accessible data and how was generated can be found in the document at Zenodo. |

The EO Data DB got updated. Thanks to Ben who provided some suggestions. Now WEkEO and Eumetsat Data Store information for S3 and S6 got updated. The valuable SRAL instrument has been added too. In addition, it is now possible to filter the entries by thematic application, like atmosphere, land and marine and also by the platform the sensor is installed. |

Revolutionizing Earth Observation with Super-Resolution Techniques |
The recent SUREDOS24 workshop highlighted cutting-edge super-resolution (SR) and downscaling techniques in Earth Observation (EO). Leveraging deep learning and AI, these methods enhance the spatial, spectral, and temporal resolution of satellite imagery. Key applications include climate modeling, agriculture, and urban development. ESA’s Third-Party Mission (TPM) programme highlighted missions like WorldView-3 and Pléiades Neo, demonstrating significant advancements in image clarity and detail. |

Ensuring High-Quality Air Pollution Forecasts |
This article delves into the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS), highlighting its critical role in providing reliable data on air pollution, health, and climate. It explains the evaluation and quality control processes that ensure the accuracy of CAMS forecasts, which are essential for managing air quality and mitigating health risks. Also, the global impact of air pollutants and the importance of independent evaluations in maintaining user confidence is discussed. |
