This month, has been full of festivities and many events for me to dress up and attend. Some of the new crowds that I am acclimated with now haven't seen me in person for such events. So I got a lot of feedback about them being surprised that I was out, about my outfits and overall just about how much fun we were able to have. If there was anything negative said, it definitely had no entry into my place of attention. What I was able to settle in the most was the last instruction that God gave me about slowing down. I honestly was in a place feeling like I had to rush my spiritual growth and God had to correct me and tell me that my longevity could not be fast paced. That slowing down, going through every process, being present, living, and most importantly my intentional time with him was going to make up for the time I thought I had to rush. That if I decided to camp out in my own plan, I was going to miss what God allowed in the moments that he created for me to have a opportunity to be apart of.
Growing up as a pastor's kid, the main focal point was always ministry and people would be amazed when we got to take a break or show that we could actually live our life too. As I begin to grow up I started to see that, that was something that was normal for "people like us" and I hated that for us. Lately, I started to see how many different leaders in ministry took delight in working out, closing their calendars, taking a trip, going fishing or attending an event they didn't have to preach at and that made me happy. That they would attend each other's birthday parties and take time to fellowship with each other on any day outside of Sunday or after an event.
God gave me much peace about being present for myself and others while studying Titus. We are of course suppose to remain Holy, but do know that God has given us grace for daily living. As children of God, when you go out into the world, keep your difference so that the word of God may not be blasphemed. Titus 2 encourages us to "be a pattern of good work; in doctrine, showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility, sound speech, that can not be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you." So go, be the light in the world, but when you go, do not become corrupted, instead be the light to bring them to know the God that you serve.
I want to encourage you to read Titus, and to even know where you are in your walk with Christ. If you know that you are not able to go to certain places, have discipline and do not go! Im not telling you to close yourself in the house, but choose with wisdom and even find new places that fit the lifestyle you are aiming to have!
LIVE!
Love always,
