September 1, 2023

It has been two and a half months since my last newsletter and I feel like a year's worth has already taken place! If you follow me on social media, you know that there have been quite a few big things that have happened during this time.

(Feel free to skip to all of the photos below if you would like!)

At the end of May, a new president took office and tripled the price of fuel nationwide. I am no longer able to use my generators 24/7 which means no electricity during the daytime. Thanks to incredibly quick and generous donation from all of you, I was able to raise enough money to purchase batteries that will power my house during the day! Unfortunately, I didn't actually get to start using the batteries until two days ago, but they are a game changer!

At the end of June, Walt and Karen unexpectedly returned to the United States for a month due to a health emergency. This left me in the village to oversee the orphanage and school, and to keep an eye on the construction of Walt and Karen's new home. I was here for two week on my own last Fall, but this was an all new level of responsibilities! I made it through alive, and now that Walt and Karen are back, I could not be more grateful for them as partners on the mission field!

August flew by with graduations, new student registration, reading lessons, planning to open a secondary school, and finally, moving into my new and final home! I am so excited to see what September has in store.

If you're not following me on Facebook or Instagram yet, be sure to look me up!

I try to add pictures and updates often so you can keep up with the adventures, prayer requests, and everything in between.

Thank you so much for your continued prayers and support!

In July, four of our kids from A Place of Hope graduated high school.

It is very common in the villages for children to end their schooling after the

6th grade. We are so incredibly proud of Afam, Blessing, Angela, and Abiola for this huge accomplishment and we cannot wait to see what God has lined up for them!

Cornerstone Christian Academy had their second annual 6th grade graduation in August with eighteen graduates! Everyone from the A Place of Hope family was so proud to be there to celebrate alongside their brothers,

Divine, Joshua, Junior, and Miracle.

Cornerstone's graduation celebration lasted nearly five hours and included performances from every grade level, awards, dancing, and of course, food!

My huge ocean shipment arrived in July with the last few of my personal items as well as so many new teaching supplies to start incorporating into the classrooms at Cornerstone Christian Academy! I also received the batteries that will power my new house during the daytime!

In August I received my passport back with my official Nigerian green card! Possibly the most exciting news of this whole newsletter though, two days ago, Walt and Karen handed over the keys to my new house. I really am official HOME!

2 BIGGEST NEEDS: Monthly Support & Prayer

While I have raised the basic funds needed to stay in Nigeria for the first year, it is important now to secure full monthly support. Please prayerfully consider partnering with me through a monthly, tax-deductible donation.

Consistent support through prayers is also vital when serving on the mission field. Knowing that I have friends and family back home who keep me in their prayers means more than you'll ever know.
