Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Despite many attempts to engage the City in a meaningful dialogue over the inappropriate nature of the proposed building at Hauke Park, they have proceeded with total disregard to our community's interest, avoiding any discussion of a more reasonable building size. We have now reached a point where a legal battle with the City is unavoidable and we need your donation to help fund the upcoming battle.
We are asking for your donation at this time so we can be well prepared and have the greatest chance of winning. We have been very judicious in spending past donations, and should this matter settle without exhausting our funds, remaining funds will be distributed back to donors, prorated by the amount donated.
Our attorney, Patrick Soluri, has advised us that there are several likely legal milestones that the proposed building is about to undergo that provide us with opportunities to halt the current path of the
50-unit project. They will require a high-level of responsiveness, and we do not want to be caught flat- footed when the time comes.
If you are still passionate about stopping the City’s efforts to increase our density, congest our traffic and parking, and you want to send them the message that this project is wrong for many other reasons,
please donate to the Friends of Hauke Park Legal Fund today. To get things rolling, we have already received two generous donations of $5,000 and $10,000. It is time to let the City know that East Mill
Valley matters.
Sincerely,
FOHP Fundraising Team
