Supporting Veggie Revival is the aim of this GLOBAL charity fun run (or fun walk!) Fo Guang Shan branches in five Continents will be hosting the event with proceeds going to support different causes whilst bringing awareness to how a plant based diet contributes to a healthy lifestyle, is low-carbon and assists with providing a sustainable future for the Earth.

Join forces with the community to promote plant-based diet and environmental protection. WALK FOR HEALTH & WALK FOR THE EARTH!

Having already been conducted in South America, North America and Europe, it is now the Oceania’s turn with NSW’s Nan Tien Temple on Saturday 3rd September.

The run will begin at the Institute then weave through Nan Tien Temple’s beautiful, award-winning gardens!

Joining the Vegrun is free, with all pre-registered participants receiving a commemorative souvenir to celebrate their efforts! However, if you would like to purchase a Vegrun T-shirt or supplementary lunch package you may also do that. (Vegetarian lunch will be served at/after 12:30pm – If you would like a vegan meal, please purchase on the day from our ‘Health & Wellbeing Market’ stall – Sharm’s Samayal – further info below). The profits of these will go towards the planting of even more trees at Nan Tien benefiting the local community. ‘Plant a tree for a greener environment and a better future!’

Tree Planting Blessing Ceremony

Nan Tien institute / 10am – 11am

A popular Chinese Proverb is: “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second best time is now.”

You are welcome to join us for this Blessing! We thank our devotees and friends who generously sponsored 80 London Plane trees to be planted at Nan Tien Institute!

To celebrate, the Abbess and Venerables of Nan Tien will conduct a Chanting and Purification Ceremony to bless the plants and show gratitude for their Earth-healing properties.

Nan Tien Health & Wellbeing Market

Nan Tien Institute / 9am - 2pm

Feel free to drop in to our monthly market, which is focused on holistic health and environmental sustainability. Vegan and gluten free food will be available at our stall, Sharm’s Samayal, which specialises in Malaysian and South Indian food. There will also be free ‘drop-in’ Tai Chi from 9:30am – 10:30am.
