I'm so glad you're back, or welcome if you're new here! Lets talk Soul Food: Recently I took a job at a big chain restaurant to support my currently very small creative income. I was working as a kitchen porter and prep chef. Other than the total disorganisation which lead me to quit, unfortunately yet unsurprisingly there was also a distinct lack of love in the process. I think that food should be made with heart, it is to me a wonderful love language. |

I've been ruminating on the notion of ‘soul food’, firstly in the sense of great food that nourishes the soul. Alternatively, any kind of nourishment we find to feed our soul. So that's the focus for this newsletter. How can we find nourishment, joy and satisfaction through a creative life? I’ll look at well-being practices, good food, artistic endeavours, and connecting with nature. To me, they are forms of soul food to be explored and experimented with. My next offering is a workshop - If you’re in Bristol, I’m hosting a Mindful Drawing Workshop at Basement Beer in St Pauls and I’d love to see you there! We will look at mindfulness principles, being present in the moment and using different techniques to draw things and people around us. More info can be found on the Event Page. |

Also stay tuned for my oracle cards - I’m really looking forward to finalising printing and making them available to buy. I’m doing free readings at the moment to get used to them and the meanings of each card, so drop me a reply if you'd like one! Oracle cards are a little like tarot but less specific. They're a great tool for self-reflection and I also encourage using them for creative prompts! |

Because I like recommending things I've enjoyed lately, here you go: - Radishes, I just really like them right now and they're perfect for the warm weather. Especially with a bit of salt and butter. - This ceramic sculpture artist I found on WePresent. If you don't know it, Wetransfer is a place to share files but they also have a really great platform (WePresent) filled with interesting articles. Not an ad, I just like it. |

That's it for this one. I have so much I want to share, but more next time. Wishing you a super lovely day! Also, if you liked this email or any of my other work, I now have ko-fi, a platform were you can donate the price of a coffee to support creators you like. You can give a one off or monthly donation and it'll help me continue doing things like this. |
