Friends of Chamber Music opens the 25th Concert Season online this Saturday, November 14, at 7:00 pm with a solo recital by Juho Pohjonen, a remarkable pianist from Finland. A few years ago, we were thrilled to discover Juho's very special artistic identity along with his world-wide performing achievements. At that time, the Friends of Chamber Music’s Board of Directors were looking forward to welcoming Juho Pohjonen in November 2020 right here, in College Station. |

Well, the pandemic has changed everything. We have learned, and we have adjusted. And now, with the same sense of thrill and excitement with which we would have been welcoming Juho Pohjonen on stage, we invite you to join his concert online! |
|
|
Juho has recorded Goldberg Variations, one of the seminal keyboard compositions by J. S. Bach, at his studio in Finland, with Friends of Chamber Music in mind. We are grateful that in the midst of the very intense recording process, Juho took a few minutes to make some special comments for us, his audience in Texas. You will hear him speak at the beginning of his performance. But that is not all there is! |

THE ENCORE! You remember those famous post-concert receptions that Friends of Chamber Music used to hold after each performance, don’t you? Those were where friends came together and had a chance to talk with our always outstanding guest musicians. Oh yes, we remember those receptions very well… But instead of being sad and regretful that we can’t have them this season, we have created something very special that we hope you will enjoy as much as we do. We give you The Encore! – Friends of Chamber Music’s post-concert online interviews with our amazing guest artists. We will ask them questions that are serious and also, those that are not so much. Would you like to take part in these conversations? Email us questions that you would like to ask our guest artists, and we will make sure to ask them for you! info@fcmtx.org |

THE ENCORE! This Saturday, November 14, stay with us to the very last notes of the beautiful final cadence of J. S. Bach’s Goldberg Variations and then, watch out for the first Encore of the 25th season! Brett Cooke, Professor of Russian at the Department of International Studies at Texas A&M University, will join Andreas Kronenberg, FCM President, and Elena Reece, FCM Artistic Director, for the interview with Juho Pohjonen. So much to discuss, so little time... |
