2019’s Foster Family Camp was amazing!
We served 12 Families, and had many new exciting activities and experiences we were able to add, thanks to the generosity of our Community Partners and Volunteers!
Grace Therapeutics came out with their sweet horses so the families could go horseback riding. They also hosted and pampered our wonderful mamas for an evening of respite, with dinner, gifts, conversation and relaxation. While the mamas were away, the dads and kiddos painted flower pots and planted flowers to surprise them when they got back. We also sent the dads away for some bowling at Tiger Bowl, who generously discounted our lanes, and while they were away, the mamas and kiddos made leather stamped key chains for them!
We did lots of other fun activities too!
Passport to Dance came out to teach different styles of Folk Dancing - Hiking - Water Balloon Volleyball - Family Scavenger Hunt - Clay Nature Sculptures - S’mores - Ice Cream Making - Archery - Fun Crafts - Movie Night with Popcorn.
And on our last night together, we gathered around our main fire-pit and stage, and the kids performed an AWESOME talent show!!! They showed off all of their crazy cool talents: skateboarding, singing & lots of dancing!
We wouldn’t have been able to do any of it without our FANTASTIC volunteers! Thank you to Office Moms and Dads for reaching out to your dedicated volunteers for us. They made it possible for our parents to relax and have a time of respite together during their stay.
We would also like to thank the following businesses who contributed to make this weekend special for the families:
Costco
Mill Creek Pub
Detroit Pizza
Rocky’s Pizza
Sunrise Bagels
The LDS Church - Ward 7
The Wilson Family
The Kulla Family
And most importantly, Thank You to our Foster Families, for giving safe and loving homes to so many kiddos who are in need in our community!
We love you!
