DECEMBER SHOUTOUT

LET'S TALK ABOUT REFLECTION & GROWTH

Here we are rounding the corner on 2023!

I often get to this time of year and everything starts to feel like it’s speeding up at a breakneck pace and I’m hanging on for dear life! I know I’m not alone in this feeling, right?

This year, our family is heading to a warm climate to take a cruise with our extended family – should be a fun adventure and it forced us to really look at doing the holidays a little differently this year: no gifts, no frenetic energy (except for the outside décor, of course) and no feelings of “do I have everything in place for all that is to come?”  I have been intentional about this with myself, with my family, and specifically with what I say yes and no to. The result has been me feeling much more present, more at peace and more intentional with my time. I hope you can find some of this within all the magic of the season in whatever that looks like for you.

My 2024 Challenge: The 24-Day Project

I’m excited to head into 2024 and have a very fun challenge that I'm asking you to join me on. It's a fresh take on making resolutions, just one habit at a time. I'm calling it the 24-Day Project and it will be my main focus during 2024. I hope you'll join me!

Why the 24-Day Project? One of the things I know to be true from my coaching business is that it’s the little habits that when woven together create an extraordinary life. These are the little things that bring more focus, more emotional regulation, more peace to your heart, and more joy to your life. I also know that the true work for habits is in the consistency. It’s easy to start something but sticking with it is where the work is—and where the learning happens. So for 2024, I am inviting you to join me on a journey of being consistent with something different every 24 days.

How does it work?  I want you to pick your top 15 things you want to work on. These can be very simple – maybe something you do most of the time but want to really dial in or something you have wanted to dabble in more. A few on my list are: Meditate for 5 minutes/day, read for 15 minutes, practice gratitude by writing down 5 things I’m grateful for, and walking on the beach. Some of these will come easy, some I already do sporadically, and some will be a challenge to make happen 24 days in a row. You'll then pick one habit to start with and commit to doing it for 24 days in a row. With 15 habits done every 24 days, we land at 360 days. This is my 24-Day Project for 2024 and I want to invite you along for the ride.

How to start? Download the 24-Day Project worksheet to write down your 15 habits. Feel free to email me back to share your 15. I'll then send out another email with more specifics by January 5th, which is when we will begin. Be sure to also follow me on Instagram for more information and inspiration around this project. You can find me at @saracaputo.

The following three questions are a general place to start with your team. Have your direct reports answer and share with one another (in a work group) or with you as the leader.

  1. What were the top three biggest projects I completed this year and what were my contributions in each?

  2. What was the biggest win I accomplished this year and how did it impact the team?

  3. What could I have changed to make my year 10% better?
