It was good to see a solid cohort at the social tournament on Tuesday 7th November. Despite being rained-off early, we got some fun games in. The next social tournament is on Tuesday 5th December 7-9pm. Wrap up warm, grab your racket, and come along and beat the winter blues.
WhatsApp groups
Who cares if it's winter! Tennis is an all-year sport at Sax. There are plenty of informal doubles games going on during weekdays thanks in part to our lively WhatsApp groups. If you'd like to join, please email club@saxtennis.co.uk with your phone number and we'll add you.
The club committee has a dedicated working group that is considering a good option to replace the floodlights. There's also discussion about making sure we have better balls for social play. Communications on both will follow in due course. A quick safety share too; please take extra care at the club when it's frosty and icy; the courts, pathways, and parking areas can get very, very slippery.
A rare winter match report..!
It was ups and downs, but smiles all round recently when our mighty Ladies 2nd team played a home game against the slightly mightier Woodbridge Ladies 2nd. Read all about it here.

The 2024 Australian Open grand slam tennis tournament is on from Sunday 14 until Sunday 28 January 2024. For those of us who are not lucky enough to attend, but want to watch it, TV coverage will be available on Eurosport and discovery+.
