What to Watch on Geopolitics

in Sri Lanka

Dear Friends,

Hope you had a great start this year, thank you for subscribing to my mailing list, if you are receiving this newsletter and have not subscribed, I invite you to join today.

Sri Lanka during the first quarter of 2022 continued to roll with the ongoing economic crisis, which has triggered multiple socio-political and foreign policy challenges. The daily lives continue with a two-front battle on facing the economic crisis and COVID-19, with clear democratic backsliding, human rights concerns to foreign policy challenges.

I begin the first quarter of 2022 with a review published by Stimson Center in Washington DC and a journal article assessing the challenges of fighting Economic Crime during the pandemic, the same paper was presented at Jesus College Cambridge University. In my regular columns, I have discussed the high-level foreign visit by the Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, the Chinese Ambassador's visit to the north, present economic crisis, internal political and foreign policy challenges, and the brutal attack of a Sri Lankan in Pakistan.

As always, you can keep up with my latest writings, appearances, and analysis at www.asangaabey.com and find me on social media. Thank You!

  Warm Regards,
