Thoughts of the Week - Rebecca I spoke too soon in my last post - true to form, our English weather has now deteriorated! We have had odd glimpses of sun but, since the start of May, there has been lots of driving rain and even light snow and hailstones! Victoria and I have, at least, managed to get out to eat with some of our closest friends, though we did have to sit outside and could only stay for three hours. The pub had, fortunately, planned for our capricious weather and provided blankets. We didn't really feel the lack of warmth, anyway, when we had the long-wished-for, face-to-face interaction with our friends to keep us warm! We hope that you are also able to see your friends or loved ones properly again. We are starting to plan the final events of the last book in our fantasy trilogy and I suddenly came over all weepy! We've probably got around 6-10,000 words to go - what am I going to be like when it's finished? Probably a blubbering wreck! It's just, we've been with our two main, romantic characters for such a long time and I can't bear to say goodbye! We talk about them all the time, plan what they are saying and doing (though they often just decide to go their own sweet way lol) and they very nearly didn't even get their Happy Ever After. I feel like they are a part of me. It is going to be so bittersweet when their story is over. I loved the hero and heroine in our romantic suspense but never felt like this! As mentioned previously, we are currently working with a designer on the cover of The Deadly Reckonings, the first book in the series and, perhaps seeing one of our main characters, Devlin, come to life as an image, has also made it that much more real for me. I'm really looking forward to showing it to you! For all those, in other parts of the world, celebrating Mother's Day tomorrow, we hope you have a wonderful day. Also thinking of all those for whom tomorrow will bring more sorrow than joy - our hearts are with you 💔 |

What we're Reading this Week Victoria Jameson by Rae B. Lake The cover of this book definitely caught my eye! 🔥 Jameson is the first book in a new series. The eponymous hero is the Vice President of the Wings of Diablo, New Orleans chapter. Jameson saves the heroine, Celine, from drowning and the club takes her under their wing. Jameson is tasked with keeping her safe and watching over her. He has recently been cheated on and so does not have a time for women but, of course, that all changes when Celine comes along. Despite her misfortunes, she is a strong character and gives as good as she gets. And things are, by no means, simple for them, when there are evil men willing to kill to get her back. So, if you like MC books, fast-moving action, fiesty heroines and sizzling romance, this is the book for you! |

| | Faith, even as a young girl, knows how to use her blonde, blue-eyed beauty to her advantage. She is shameless in her pursuit of men, but her insecurities lead her to make rash decisions. Soon she finds that pouting and batting her eyes will not get her out of the deadly jam she finds herself in. Will a past love be able to save her? Blurb: READER'S FAVORITE AWARD WINNER FOR MYSTERY/THRILLER Do you like a shocking thriller? Do you like a twist you never see coming? You'll love this book because it delivers it all - a shocking thriller you won't forget! What sets this story apart is the dark turn it takes. Faith is plunged into a living nightmare so dark it's beyond anything you can imagine. Review: "Wow, this was an amazing read! This is my first read from this author and I can't wait for more. Fast-paced and took a few turns I was not expecting at all. There were so many times I wanted to break down and cry with Faith and there were so many I wanted to shake her and tell her to stop!" | | |

| | I was drawn to this book by the cover - it immediately made me think of other thrillers I have really enjoyed. I was also intrigued by the blurb. The author is fresh on the scene, judging by the lack of reviews but, knowing how tough it is, as a new author, to get noticed, I thought I'd give this a try! If you read it and enjoy it, please consider leaving a review. Blurb: THEIR ONE MISTAKE... LETTING HIM LIVE. Decklan Jennings, former Army Ranger, is devastated by a brutal home invasion, which leaves his entire family dead. Angry and seeking revenge—and frustrated with the local police department's lack of cooperation and progress in solving the crime—Decklan takes matters into his own hands. He gains an unexpected ally when a former Navy SEAL shows up on his doorstep with his own ax to grind and a suspicion that he and Decklan are pursuing the same culprit. I've started it and it is very easy to read and doesn't waste any time getting straight into the action! So, why not take a chance on a new, thrilling read? | | |
