George Floyd should be alive today He should be able to lift his daughter up high and they should be able to change the world together. The accountability found on all three counts of Derek Chauvin is a minuscule step forward. This trial represents accountability more than justice, and moreover, it represents the overwhelming need for change in our justice systems, our policing systems, our society, and our government. The murder of George Floyd and the Chauvin Trial has forced all to acknowledge the painful truth that widespread systemic racism still exists in America and is unacceptable. Our society must undergo a transformation to get to the point where people of color are not treated differently. This accountability brings forth hope, but it is only the beginning on the road to true justice. |

Take time this week to call both our US Senators and tell them to pass the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act of 2021 H.R.1280 is a civil rights and police reform bill drafted by Democrats in the United States Congress, including members of the Congressional Black Caucus. The legislation aims to combat police misconduct, excessive force, and racial bias in policing. You can read the full bill here: https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/house-bill/1280 |

On Thursday, NFDW hosted an almost 4-hour marathon Women in Blue - if you didn't get to catch it during the day, here's the 3-minute spotlight on Arkansas! |

The end is near ... for the Arkansas General Session. |
Take some time this week to say THANK YOU to the Democrats serving in the Arkansas House and Senate. This was by far the roughest session in modern history and we are grateful for the fight and hard work and strong representation most of our Democrats brought to the table every single day of the extended time in Little Rock. |
