Hey friends! If you didn't see it, I posted this last week on Instagram thanking all of my writer friends. Since I became involved in the writing community a few years ago, I've met so many wonderful writers. I truly appreciate all of you and am so grateful to have connected with you. <3

July Camp NaNoWriMo I've concentrated more on Project Snow Wolf this month, so I've decided to finish revisions of Project Mages during Camp NaNo. That way, I can send the entire manuscript to my critique partner soon. This aesthetic is of the main character, Adira. Are you participating in Camp NaNo? If so, what are you working on? For more info on all of my projects, click the button below.

With everything going on, I've tried to lift up black author voices on social media, but I still wanted to support them even more. I've purchased several books by black authors, and I have even more on my TBR that I can't wait to read. And when I saw a video by Holly Davis talking about this amazing book club she's starting, I knew I had to join and help spread the word. I can't wait to read the first book, A Song of Wraiths and Ruin by Roseanne A. Brown. While sharing posts to raise up black authors, I noticed this book immediately and wanted to read it. June Bookshelf In June, I started reading the Charlie Travesty serial. For those who don't know, a book serial is different than a book series. A serial is like a TV show in book form. The books are shorter and more novella size. Each book is typically called a volume or episode. If you like vampires, check out the Charlies Travesty serial. I thought I should give a heads up to anyone who hasn't read The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender because there's a specific scene that bothered me. If sexual assault/rape is a trigger for you or bothers you in any way, don't read it or skip that scene. FYI, t's pretty late in the book. |

This month I had two 5 star reads, which is rare for me. I wasn't sure if I wanted to read A Curse So Dark And Lonely since I've read several Beauty and the Beast retellings lately. But I'm so glad I took a chance on it. It was so good! I can't wait to read the second book in the Cursebreaker series. I also gave The Friend Zone 5 stars. Have you ever had a book make you sob so hard you had to put it down? The Friend Zone did this to me. Going into it, I knew the main character had infertility issues, but I didn't realize how much this book would affect me. It brought up old emotions and memories for me. Infertility is an emotional, physical, psychological rollercoaster. |

My heart and prayers go out to anyone who has gone through or is going through the struggle of infertility. Overall, I highly recommend The Friend Zone. Lastly, I saw that Sarah Henning (author of Sea Witch) is releasing a new book on July 7th called The Princess Will Save You. I loved Sea Witch and gave it 5 stars, so I knew I would like to read her new book. Then I saw The Princess Will Save You was inspired by The Princess Bride, which made me even more excited to read it. I found a free 40 page sneak peek on Amazon and read it. I loved it and can't wait to get the entire book and read it when it comes out! To see my other reads, you can go to my Goodreads by clicking on the button below. |
